Question What Makes You Complete?

What makes you feel complete and satisfied? Is it spiritualilty, financial security, family togetherness, the love of a man/woman, sex, etc?

For those who feel that they are INCOMPLETE or UNSATISFIED with themselves as a person, what do you feel you need to achieve/obtain to become complete?

Well what makes me complete is God's love, mercy, grace, etc. Having the Lord in my life, makes me whole. A pet peeve, I hate it when my friends say their man makes them complete. So, are you telling me that you were just a part and having him makes you a whole? Oh no girl, you should a whole and he should compliment you and not complete you. Sorry, just a little sidebar

There are so many things that make me complete. But first and foremost, I agree that my belief and faith in Jesus Christ keeps me rooted. In addition to that, I feel that self-acceptance is another thing that makes me complete. Yes, I am happily married and I love my husband (and children). However, I came to realize early in my life that although I am a mother, wife, counselor, sister, aunt, daughter (all titles), I was RENEA before I had ANY other title. I realized that I had to take care of and help MYSELF first before I could take care or help anyone else (including my very own family). I do believe that women, with all of our titles and roles, lose perspective of who we are. We forget about ourselves as individuals and this is when we feel that we are not complete.

Lightbulb Things that make me complete are...

1. Self-love
2. My godchildren's smiles and laughing
3. My niece and nephews
4. Love that I receive from my family
5. Peace of mind
6. Lack of drama
7. Good friends
8. High self-esteem
9. Common sense (not many people have this, nor are they willing to admit that they lack it. )

The only things that I need to make myself more complete are:

1. A better relationship with God
2. A Bachelor's and Doctorate degrees
3. My dream career as one of the best Black female entrepreneurs in the USA

LOVE makes me complete.

The insurmountable love that GOD shows to me each day never ceases to amaze me. The love I feel just talking to my mother, both spoken and unspoken. The love I share with friends who always have my back. The love I have for my sorors and frat, here on campus and e'rywhere else. Then finally the love I have for myself. No one can determine your worth but you, and I think I am complete only because I truly love myself.

CT4, It's funny you should bring this topic up. At this point in my life, I'm very unsettled and unsatisfied with everything...school, work, friends, etc. I was talking to my mother the other day and she told me I would NEVER be content with school, I would NEVER be content with work, I would NEVER be content with my friends, and I would never be content with life period unless I was first happy with myself WITHIN. And I couldn't do anything but cry because it's so true. Right now, I'm having a hard time finding happiness within myself but it's starting with me accepting me for who I am, physically and mentally, flaw and all. I also haven't been going to church and keep an open spiritual relationship with God like I should. But I'm working on it. After realizing this, I feel soooooo much better already and I know I'll be alright. So I'd say true happiness and wholeness comes from within yourself and God.

NOWorNEVER, I think you need a big hug, and I'm glad that you took the time to look deep within yourself to realize that you're incomplete and what you feel you need to do in order to obtain some sort of completeness in your life. Not many people are willing to do that.

Only one thing works for me.

Diligently seeking the face of God and His will for my life has always led me to the desires of my heart and more.

Prior to accepting Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior and enhancing my relationship with him, I used to believe that I was complete by having a boyfriend or having a friend who would listen to all of my issues...however, as I have grown I have realized that everything I need whether emotional, financial, spiritual, physical is in JESUS. He has truly made me a complete person. I still desire love and other things however I know who my source is.

There is a song by Greg O'Quinn called U complete Me...the song is truly on point.
