Why would a sister sell these things on Ebay?!!! Maybe she dropped, but in that case she should have turned her pin in to her chapter back in the 70's. Why would an alum decide to sell her pin? Another question, I thought we were not supposed to keep First and Second Degree pins. In my chapter, we exchange our First degree pin for our Second degree pin, and then trade that for our pin (or big sister's) pin at initiation. The chapter keeps those pins, we do not get to have them once we have been initiated.
Also, in the description for the pin, it's her membership pin and "charm?" Try "chapter guard." And our pin has a "sword" at the top? Last time I checked, every KD knows our symbol is a DAGGER (and nautilus, but our Ebay friend would probably call it a seashell).
Does nationals have any sort of policies about rescuing pins from collectors on Ebay? I've read about Kappa's "Keepers of the Key" (I believe), and it sounds like they have a great system that works to keep their pins within their sisterhood. I'd try to buy these pins, but I'm a poor college kid!
