So the thread under Entertainment doesn't get out of hand, and credit to Sandy for this question, but how many of you have experienced a natural disaster? I also want to add major non-auto related accident? (airplane, train, bus, u get it.)
1989 Loma Prieta earthquake... I was 8 at the time. I was driving home with my dad from my after school program and that's when it hit... nothing really bad happened to my part of town and the house just had some things fall off of shelves... but my mom didn't get home from San Francisco where she worked at the time until like midnight that night and it's usually a half hour commute from San Fran to Palo Alto. School was shut down for three days to make sure the building was safe... I still remember seeing the shots from the world series that was being played at Candlestick when it hit.
