Kim Campbell one of the 50 most important leaders of all time????

Read it here:

http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2004/04/10...campbell040410
http://www.canada.com/edmonton/edmon...5-dd3a16a54755

All I can say is... bullsh*t. Sure, she was the first female prime minister of Canada, but she didn't do anything but lose an election.

This quote sums my opinion up: "I don't think Kim Campbell should even make a list of great Canadian leaders," he says. "She was the first and only (female) prime minister of Canada -- and that's stretching her accomplishments to the limit."

ETA: The second link contains the list of 50 leaders.

What a joke - putting King and MacDonald on the list makes sense, but Campbell - I can think of a lot of PMs more deserving....

Trudeau
Laurier
Pearson
St. Laurent
Mulroney
Mackenzie
and so on...

Whoever put that list together was smoking crack.

Mahatma Gandhi is not on it, but Indira Gandhi is. And many other examples.

I know. I really expected more from the good people at National Geographic.

And the interesting thing is that neither Mohandas Karmchand (Mahatma) Gandhi and Indira Gandhi are not related at all.

I don't even remember her being PM. What I don't understand is the absence of Mary Robinson from the list.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

That list is a joke. Remind me never to read National Geographic anymore. I thought they were supposed to be an intelligent magazine.

Kim Campbell??!!! Lester B. Pearson didn't make the list and he won a Nobel Peace Prize. Why the hell did she make the list?

Suharto is in it but not Sukarno? Sukarno and Nehru both fought against colonies around the world. They became the spokesperson for those who wanted freedom against the archaic system.

Everybody knows that Tojo was pulling Hirohito's strings.

All Nero did was burned down Rome and he was insane.
