Redemption on FX

Did anyone catch Redemption, the story of Stan "Tookie" Williams, starring Jamie Foxx? It told the story of how Williams was the cofounder of the Crips street gang and how even on death row he was nominated for two Nobel prizes (one for peace, the other literature) for his children's books to keep kids away from gangs and helping initiate a truce. Jamie Foxx was quite good in it. What did you think if you did get a chance to watch it?

I didn't think that it was all that. I mean, it would have been better had it actaully been edited better or something. I don't quite know how to put it. I would have rathered that it started from the end, like when she went to meet him initially, then tell the story in sequential order. Then it could have picked back up and told about how his book idea came to be, leading to his Nobel Peace Prize nomination. Those random flashbacks really didn't do anything for me. The story seemed pieced together and I don't feel like I really learned anything. It could have been a much better movie.

I can saw that I was tripping from seeing Ahmad as a hit man . I wasn't ready for that. And yes, he still had the acne....

I thought the story was good, but I ddin't like how they did the timeline of how they told it. I mean I was forever wondering what year all this was taking place, and how many years had transpired in between events, but I still thought that it was a good story, just didn't like how it was told.

I too was taken off guard seeing Ahmad as a gangsta.
