UC Riverside To Suspend Psi Chi Omega Fraternity
March 31, 2004
LOS ANGELES -- A hazing incident has led the University of California, Riverside to suspend the Psi Chi Omega fraternity.
The university's student conduct committee has ruled that the fraternity can't meet or recruit members through November 12th.
Afterward, it will be on probation for three years and members must receive anti-hazing training.
The suspension started last fall when a 20-year-old student suffered liver lacerations when he collided with a fraternity member.
They were running blindfolded through what police called a "forest" of people.
