Zeta as your first letter

Hello Ladies of Zeta Phi Beta,

I have one simple question for you. What are your views on other sororities having the same first letter (Zeta) as you?
Thanks so much.

Its a joking answer to a peculiar question. Instert apropriate body language and tonality in here so that more people will understand that

Doesn't bother me, there are only so many letters in the Greek alphabet.

The reason I asked is because the city I go to college in is a big College and University town. It is filled with so many different fraternities and sororities. I think there a two Zeta Phi Beta chapters here. My sorority is a local and around our campus we are known as the "Zetas" but of course we tell people we are Zeta Lambda Psi if asked. Sometimes we don't wear our letters to functions around the city because we don't want people to think we are trying to be something that we are not. For example, the Alpha Probate is on Monday and I am going with some of my sisters. I think it would be a good idea if we went and represented. But, we don't want to cause problems with any other sororitiy that thinks we are trying to be Zeta Phi Betas.

This girl also told us one time that her friend who is a Zeta Phi Beta was mad at us because we use the title "Zeta" and that she was coming with some of her sisters to get us. I was just asking because I have seen both orgs and they are so different. I think the only thing we have in common is the first letter and that we are a sorority. I think that girl was also trying to start some because all the Zeta Phi Betas I have talked to said they have no problem with it.

I’ve seen this debate before but between ZTA and ZPB. It’s mostly between new members who are in their first or second week. I assume that they just hadn’t gotten to the part where many groups share letters. I say wear your letters proudly. They are yours and no one can take them from you. If you cater to small-mindedness, you are denying an opportunity to teach people about YOUR sorority.

We are Alpha Sigma Alpha and we have Alpha Sigma Tau's on our campus, which means we share the first two letters, and we've never had any problems....wear your letters proudly!

Thats truly unfortunate. There are so many organizations with the same letters i.e. Omega Phi Beta, Gamma Phi Beta...there are only so many combinations and hundreds (many thousands?) of organizations. People need to get over it. The letters aren't copywritten/trademarked.
