I worked a full and part time job, carried a full load and was VP (2nd officer down the totem pole) of my chapter when we were assembling a petition for our charter (very busy stuff).
It was a bit of a strain on me. However, I enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend it.
Your part time job or full time job will probably not yield anything close to what you could gain from being in a fraternity: life long membership to something that matters, bonds that will last for the rest of your life, not to mention a greatly improved college experience.
If you don't do it, you'll probably regret it.
