Don't worry -- I'm older and I'm still not excited by dish towels.

Getting older- blah!
Honestly, I am not about to get older quickly. Yes, I understand responsibility and what not, but I think one of the keys to happiness is to be young at heart, and I fully intend to be that way for a long time.
PS- no matter what anyone says, parties and meeting new friends or seeing old ones will always be more exciting than outfitting a house with linnens and kitchen accessories!

I feel you... i am at a point in my life now where i still love all of my friends/sisters who are younger (ie: freshman, 18/19 years old) but I'm 22 and the things that amuse them just don't amuse me anymore. I was in the dorms a few weeks ago (don't ask why...) and i seriously was grateful i was not living in the dorms or the house anymore. the lack of respect people have and the crap that goes down is enough to drive me nuts now...
i'm an old lady - i admit it

You're making me laugh.
Ladies, 22 is not old. I'm 23 (will be 24 in september) and I don't feel old.
At 22 you should still be going out and having a blast. I was still in school at 22 (althought I didn't start university till I was 19 thanks to OAC)
These are the times you should be out having adventures. You don't have tons of responsibility, enjoy it while you can. I think you should be lucky you can still hang with your younger friends/sisters, but mature enough to enjoy time spent with older friends.
I persoanlly think 22 is too young to get married and they're going to miss out on a lot of things (but to each their own I guess).
You're only as young as you feel, so start feeling young
ETA: I feel like I just wrote this post in Earpspeak. I hope you all understand what I was trying to say because I don't think I do

I don't fee old in a terms of my parents old - but maturity wise, i feel ages older than the freshman 18 and 19 year olds. Most people I know grow up A LOT during college - we realize life is not ALL about partying every night - though it's always fun once in awhile. I'm just at that point where i know there are places i want to go, experiences i want to have, things i want to learn, etc
I guess you could say i am ready to move on from undergrad life

Except to say in a very kind way that you guys really have no clue yet, I'm not going any farther.
Keep it that way as long as possible.

Never say never! When you're finally moving into your own house or apartment and you no longer have to use the threadbare, ratty old hand-me-downs your mother has had for 30 years and you get to pick out the colors and decor and everything matches and is shiny and new and yours, you might get excited! It's not necessarily the dish towels and kitchen accessories themselves, it's what they represent: a new start in a new house for the new couple.
Then again, it could be just me!
- so sayeth me who was very excited to receive her cute little khaki and brick red and old-fashioned embroidered dish towels with the roosters on them at her shower and who proudly has them haging from the handle of her oven.

Growing up....I don't feel I'm quite there yet.....I'll be 24 in July and still live like a college student. F*ck in fold chair, no real silverware, the works. I also party a lot (on the weekends....sleeping through my job is a lot different than sleeping through a class!) and quite honestly, am starting to get teased/picked on a lot for it by my peers. Needless to say some of the people I party with are barely 21 years old......maybe that makes me immature but at least I have a good time.
I definitely have my moments when I question myself, though, especially when I see people my own age getting engaged and married!

I don't want to grow up, so I just don't think I will. You're not really old until you start acting like it.

HAHAHA some sisters... (seniors.. I'm recent Alum) we talking about wanting a Kitchen Aid mixer.. (you know those SUPER nice like almost industrial ones) and that new drier that you can hang your clothes to dry rather than tumble dry and we're like DAMN we're old.. but seriously it is true you have to take on the responsibility .. no more mom and dad o be there and pay for everything which SUCKS.... but I've come to discover this part of life is exciting.. (finally getting to do what you've always wanted to do) as was college and being active.. so live in the moment and enjoy what life has to offer at every stage ! At least that's what I remind my self when I'm thinking DAMN I"m 24 and don't really want to be GROWN up...
