Lightbulb Second Semester

So, I've been thinking lately... The Phi Program is amazing. The new girls are SO excited about Phi Mu all of first semester. Then, second semester comes around, and I feel like they just don't see it anymore. I'm thinking of trying to start a "Second Semester Phi Program" that would be for all of the newly initiated members. Having meetings maybe once a month, letting them have a place to ask questions about Phi Mu and try to figure out what they want out of Phi Mu and what they can put into it. Has anyone ever done anything like this? I'm searching for ideas because I know 2nd semester of your freshman year is a rough time and I really want to be able to show the girls what Phi Mu is all about(beyond being a Phi).

Gosh, what an AWESOME idea!!! I think a lot of people sort of forget that just because they've signed a bid card, it doesn't mean they're going to remain a sister for life. I mean, we want them to, but sometimes people get scared, or intimidated, or get the idea that it's not always wonderful and not worth the work. Giving new sisters an extra "easing in" semester seems like a great way to help them transition from Phi to fully-functioning initiated sister.

We do something a little bit like this during the Phi period. Let me know how it turns out!

Yeah, we do the same thing for both our Phis and seniors, but I just really think more needs to be done. Door Decs are great, but I think we just really need to get them involved. It's hard when you've got so many people already established in chapter... Hopefully I can get this off the ground!
