Purdue Greek Adviser Leaving for Job with Theta Chi

Purdue is losing its Greek Life adviser, who has accepted the position of chief operating officer of Theta Chi.

http://www.purdueexponent.org/index....article_id/267

Incidentally, the article mentions some of the elements of life for Greek advisers that have been discussed here on GC: long hours, an average stay of 3 to 5 years, and so on -- for instance, some of the posts in this thread:

What do you mean? How can you blame a guy for taking a better position?

People take new jobs all the time. A greek advisor position is no different, except it is alot of work, long hours and not nearly enough pay for the stress and hastle. Maybe he felt he was going to make more of a difference in the new position. Also, that now leaves the position open for someone who could be even better for the school and the greek community.

I think it can be considerably frustrating to build a relationship with a Greek advisor, only for him/her to leave to another position. I dealt with two different Greek advisors as President, and it was a pain in the neck.

Good for him for doing what he wants to do, but I can see where students are frustrated.
