First choice, hands down...
...would be Kramer vs. Kramer w/an all black cast.
I think it would have a powerful influence and empowerment of Black men to be a single father to their child(ren). Especially a brother who is fighting in court for custody. Would make an AWESOME statement to the Black community.
I would re-do "White Man's Burden" because I think it was a really interesting concept, but they didn't go anywhere with it. I would provide historical background that would explain why blacks were the majority.
I would remake "The Color Purple" and extend it past the point where Nettie comes back home, because that definitely wasn't the end of the novel (from what I remember). I would probably put the overt lesbian themes back in there, too.
I would remake Mariah Carey's video, "Breakdown". I saw it again this morning, and the video didn't have a thing to do with the song. I'd make the video and the song link up.
