Relationship Ratio

What percent value do you weigh some aspects of a person's attributes when you are considering going out with them?

Using the any of descriptors listed below, what would you put on your list as valued attributes?

If one that you'd like to use is not on the list post it by itself and then post your list. So I can modify this original post and include it on the list, if it doesn't already fall under one of the attributes listed.

Integrity (Loyal/Trustworthy/Dependability/Honesty)
Moral Turpitude (Respect/Values)
Intelligence (Common Sense)
Formal Education (Book Sense)
Spiritual (Actively believes and practices faith)
Sense of Family (Closeness to Family)
Sense of Humor
Grooming (Hygiene)
Sense of Fashion (Style of Dress)
Physical Appearance (Looks)
Appreciation of Music/Art
Sense of Purpose (Direction in Life)
Motivation and Drive
Communication Skills
General Personality (Attitude)
Personal Stability (Mental and Emotional)
Sexual Prowess
Social Skills (Able to deal with friends)
Nurturing (Being Supportive/Affectionate)
Financial
Adventuresome (Willing to try new things)
Community Awareness (Current Event/Involvement in Politics/Community Service)

Percentage wise, for example mine would be:

40% Physical Appearance
15% Intelligence
15% Integrity
15% Communication Skills
15% Personal Stability

I saw this thread in the in Dating and Relationships Forum but didn't see any D9 responses. Give credit to lifesaver and the original thread is here http://greekchat.com/gcforums/showth...threadid=29705

Interesting perspectives but mathematically your lists need to be valid.

That would mean you could, in theory, only choose ten attributes.

If you choose to list yours on a scale of one to ten then you would have to account for the attributes that carry the same weight.

For instance if you have two attributes that share a rating of ten then the next number to show what is of importance next would be an eight. Because nine has been removed by virtue of the tie between the two tens. Just like when ranking teams.

I used mine as an example for you to follow but not the only guide.

If you flip the list in your ranking order then that would probably give us a better perspective but no insight into what you truly value from someone you CHOOSE to be in a relationship.

That's why I wanted y'all to step out on a limb and pick some of the attributes that YOU think are important and list their percentage. This will let us see what you value.

Cuz from my list you can see that I want an Attractive Woman, that is an intelligent, open communicator, with a sense of integrity that is mentally and emotionally stable.

Can your hear me now?

Physical Appearance-35% (I have to like what I'm looking at)
Sprirituality-20% (I believe that this would encompass integrity, because if he is actively and truely pursuing his faith, he will strive to live and do right.)
Intelligence-15% (Not necessarily formal education, but I guess I would characterize this as a yearn to learn about different things. Also, hopefully...if you are intelligent, you can formulate your thoughts well enough to be a good conversationalist.)
Personal Stability-10& (This is very important, I have really had some crazies)
Sexual Prowess-5% (Who said this was only important to men?)
Sense of Humor-5% ( I like to laugh, my potential mate would have to factor into this somehow)

I'm going to add one on the list that's not there:
Motivation and Drive- 10%- I can't stand a man who is content with their mediocre surroundings and have no motivation to change their situation. A man with a purpose and and a focus to know what he wants and a plan to get it, is one of the sexiest non-physical traits I can think of.

Well I guess, if I were able to find all that in a man I wouldn't be so happy being single. No pun intended.....

I'm still sticking with my scales......

I also agree with 1savvydiva's point on Motivation and Drive, while I don't find that sexy....LOL I think it is an important trait to have male or female. That's why I dumped my last boyfriend.......he had no ambition or motivation, but had a whole lot of envy for those who were ambitious and motivated to take charge of their lives.
