Gotten any good deals off of eBay?
Have you gotten any great deals off of eBay? My husband and I have really scored the past few years--we try to buy carefully. Today I got a setting of our china...last week I got an electronic GeoSafari for the kids, both for almost nothing. Other good deals have included sorority items for our oldest girls and hard-to-find things like "retired" Bath&Body scents and aluminum tumblers.
Next quest..to find a good Hawaiian quilt....

so far i've gotten three awesome items:
1. chanel sunglasses for $250 instead of $400
2. a tiffany necklace that hasn't even been seen in north america yet (only 1 other person @ my university has it)
3. a gucci visor (real for sure) even cheaper than a fake one.
my next conquests are a burberry tote purse and a louis vuitton speedy 30! i love ebay!

Yep, on LXA items! Some I buy for our next years auction but have paid a whole lot for others!
The idea is when to hold them and when to fold them!
Have also seen some great deals on Greek Badges for those that cannot afford them new!
Bidder beware!

I got a really beautiful sapphire heart shaped pendant. Real dark sapphires are my favorite.
Oh, I love lab-created diamond earings. I am not afraid I will hurt them. (NOT CZ)

I have gotten some really wonderful vintage salt and pepper shakers, Berggren tiles, Corning ware (only the pennsylvania dutch pattern from the 1970s), Avon white bisque nativity figurines, and vintage plates to display...all things I collect!
One of my favorite purchases was a set of the Northern Tissue girls! My younger sister got the set that used to be displayed in my parents house and I have always wanted a set for my own -- now I have one!
Ebay came in handy when I had to replace a dinner plate from my Villeroy & Bosch place settings because I had accidentally chipped it. Got some storage pieces and potholders and towels in the same pattern -- I did not know they were even made/sold!
Recently I bought a beautiful black lacquer sword stand for my oldest son's samurai sword which he received when he earned his black belt in karate. Also bought some very cool "knight" stuff for my youngest son -- a chain mail headpiece, a helmet, a shield and a crossbow (mainly decorative).
Of course I have bought some fabulous Gamma Phi Beta items and Southern Cal items!
I have also gotten an interesting education while seeking "just the right" japanese glass fishing ball float to buy for my sister. She loved the one I got for her!
Also have bought some nice dog stuff for my sister who breeds and shows smooth fox terriers and dachshunds for my ACHiO girlfriend who owns two doxies and shows one of them.
Probably the BEST deals we have gotten in terms of prices comparable to stores have been on toys we purchase for our sons' biorthdays and Christmas -- esp Legos and Lord of the Rings figures.
I Love Ebay!

I've bought several books off Ebay. Best deal was an out-of-print book I lost in a basement flood...got a replacement for $3 including shipping!

I think my (bio) sister got the mother of all deals on ebay. She paid $1,400 for a 1.57 carat diamond ring that received a certified appraisal of $22,000 from her jeweler!
Why can't I find deals like that????

The only two things I've bought so far were a Tiffany necklace that I got at a significant discount, and a beautiful red pair of Doc Martens (which are impossible to find out in the sticks where I live)...I've heard a lot of eBay horror stories, but I've been nothing but satisfied so far.

Ebay deals
I am SO Ebay addicted. I actually gave ebaying up for Lent on year.
My best deal by FAR...I found my car on Ebay, a Jacqueminot Rose Red loaded Lincoln Town Car. The seller even delivered it to my home AND it was cheaper than the Oldsmobiles that I had found!

You know what I found was so interesting when I was watching all the Northern Tissue Girls auctions was that there were "other" children dxrawn, including boys!!! I always thought it was just the five girls that were always up in my folks home -- my mom used to say we each represented one of the girls...then 17 years after daughter #5 was born, a "surprise" arrived (that's my biological sister, ThetaSis2GPhiB)...the pics came down then -- I guess my mom did not realize there were others! I may try to get two boys now -- ones that resemble my two sons when they were younger...I also have to frame my girls now! I am sure hubby will scratch his head and say WTF??? when I put them up because we have no daughters!

Iv'e gotten some pretty good deals:
Sony MiniDV for $400 - it was used once, but otherwise totally brand new
Lego Mindstorms - Christmas gift for FI one year - way under retail
Hello Kitty wine glasses - I overpaid but they're a very rare collectable - you could only get them by spending about $200 in the Sanrio stores. Considering I got them for $45, not bad

I'm a Hello Kitty freak too. I frequently search on Ebay for Hello Kitty stuff.......you can find ANYTHING, believe me. Once, I saw Hello Kitty tampons. (I didn't bid).
