Tanning

Do any of you girls tan? I know it's bad for you, and I don't do it often, but I went last week and I'm now. It's the first time I've gone all winter (very pale = burn) so I only went 15 minutes. I SLIGHTLY burned a little on my tummy and back and legs, but get this - - my boobs just turned tan. And my upper chest. I don't get it. That's usually the first place to burn!!! Any explanations?

That is kind of strange. I started tanning for the 1st time ever this year, and now I'm addicted. I just convinced the boy to start coming with me as well, so now we just go together. There are actually a lot more guys out there who tan than I ever thought. Explains all the "naturally" tan people on campus I guess.

Since I had never been tanning, ever, I had to start at like 5 min, so it was pretty sad. I think as long as you just go a little slower, you won't burn like that.

i tan every year on a regular basis. right now i'm not tanning, but i'm planning on starting soon cuz i'm very white and need some color.
it's bad to burn when you tan though. like sigkap said, start slow and go from there. and always use tanning lotion. when you don't it's like washing your hair without shampoo. doesn't do much.

A lot of people are doing the whole spray on tan thing.... you might want to try that. I'm of mediteranean descent, so i don't need to tan (sorry ladies).

i really want to try the spray tan thing, but can't find a place in town that is does it. so whatever.
actually my dermatologist told me to go tanning on a regular basis to help my psoriasis (patches of dry skin). he just said i shouldn't do it too much. (aka - more than once a week)

My boyfriend also has psoriasis and said the same thing, which is I think, the only reason I convinced him to start tanning with me. But other than telling me that it helps, he didn't say much else (i.e. how often, how much it helps, that sort of thing..)
