thanks.

i've kept up with the creighton girls pretty well. it's hard this year since they're in the weird transition phase right now - from not being a chapter to still staying together. i just wish i could be there for all of them since i was one of the most trusted among all of the classes and could put out fires.

well, i'm not too sure where exactly to look yet. i guess i'm trying to find out where to/not to look specifically. i really dont know much about l.a. yet, so i'm trying to figure it all out.
who knows, i may change my mind, but this is where it's at for now.

i guess i should say more as to why i'm not really sure of any specifics. the theatre world has a completely different caendar than the rest of the real world. we have three different hiring seasons. now being the mid/end of the summer hiring season. it will be about another month(ish) until job postings for august start appearing. so i'm looking without really knowing what i'm doing yet.

The hot area for theatre in LA is NOHO. It is in the valley and there are a lot of small theatres that have great independent plays. I have several friends who are stage actors and they tell me it is a tough market out here.

If you are an actress, you will want to live either in Silverlake, North Hollywood, Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, West Hollywood, the Mid Wilshire District or West LA. Anywhere else makes the commute kind of difficult to the theatres and studios.

Please let me know if you have any specific questions and I will do my best to help you out.

I don't REALLLLY have an LA connection but it's kinda close. Actually I was looking at transferring to a school in California, either San Bernardino or San Diego State. I know they both have chapters there and I would want to be active there as well. I go to school in Virginia now, so I'm a little worried about the transition. Has anyone transferred schools/chapters, especially so far away? Is it normally difficult to adjust?

Also returning to L.A.

I am also looking to relocate to the LA area this summer (June)when I finish my masters degree. I am currently seeking both a roommate AND a job, and would appreciate any guidance or direction that can be offered by fellow phis. I will have a masters in Counseling Psychology, but not be eligible for licensure in California for at least another year while I finish the CA requirements (slightly different than up her in Oregon.) I am open to quite a few types of work in the meantime, but I'm NOT interested in sales. Ugh, I hate cold calls.

Hi Laura!

Hi Lindsey! I am so excited to hear you're moving back to LA and hope we can get you to advise once you do! When you are more certain about the date you are moving let me know and I will let you know if I know anyone looking for a roomie.

I will also keep my ears open for rumors about jobs.

Woohoo!
