Canadians: What are you doing during Reading Week?

U of T is off for Reading Week next week. Are any other schools off then too? What are you going to do? If you're an alum now, what did you do when you were still in school? I think I'm actually going to be working during Reading Week, for the first time! When I was an undergrad, I mostly hung out at home, went to the mall, etc. I've never gone away to some place warm (though I did in high school).

I guess so. Classes in Canadian schools generally end the first week of April, so it would be kinda weird to have Spring Break in March. Reading Week is right in the middle of the second semester.

Rob: You're actually doing work!!! Well, so am I. I need to start on that 7000 word biographical essay for my Victorian Society class.

Reading week is the exactly the same as spring Break.
The reason they call it reading week is because usually the week after are midterms. So they expect you to study in your time off.

Since I'm not at school right now. No reading week I have to work. I was going to take a week off work and go to BC to visit some family but I have no money .

However, Guelph has it's reading week next week too, and a few of my sisters are going to Cuba.

Yep lots o'work here... 6000 word essay in my African history course on the historical perception of "Egypt" using only primary sources... loads o'fun. Oh yeah and my anthropology profs. decided that quizes/tests after reading week is the way to go... way to kill the "holiday".

Oh well this is also the week that I found out that I have to come back next year... summer courses were not the ones I needed to graduate.... so a little history and latin and I might be a grad student in two years (well maybe.... I am getting a little old for this crap).

Rumour has it that it's due to having a high suicide rate, but I think that's probably an urban legend.

My youth orchestra conductor wanted me to go to trent because he knew the math prof there. Yea, he always said _the_ math prof. Made me wonder if there was only one.

When I attended UBC I spent my reading weeks in Whistler, relaxing and getting in a few days of skiing.

At BCIT we have spring break - mid march. We poor saps have school till the end of May - with finals right after Victoria day. Lasting until the end of may is impossible especially after finishing 1st week of april.

I've heard the same rumour. But I mean come on...it's Trent!
It's kind of like going to Brock..."If you can walk and talk you can go to Brock". Or so the saying goes.
