Question for the fabulous Chi-O's out there!

Hello, ladies! I'm the new VP of Scholarship for my Panhellenic and I need your help. I just started a program for women who earned a 3.8 or above. They'll be receiving dangles depicting their chapter mascot. I'm looking to make it really nice---handwritten congratulations, invitations to attend a Panhellenic meeting where we'll present them with their dangles in front of the exec board, delegates, and guests.

However...I'm still kinda stuck on that "presentation" part of it. I'd love to use quotes from the founders of the orgs here (we have 5 NPC's). Something about how important scholarship is to the organization and its members, etc, etc. Do any of you know of anything like this? Or know where I could look?

Thanks so much in advance!

Panhellenic love,
Jennifer

Jennifer,

Here's one... (I'll find some more & post them later.)

"...we were a sincere group of young women who had very definite ideas of the womanly ideal and definite ideas of what an intelligently trained woman could do in society." --Jobelle Holcombe, Founder of Chi Omega

Jobelle Holcombe -

"We began to discuss the meaning of our organization and we arrived at what we thought were good ideals-the idea of trained intelligence, the principle of social obligations, and social responsibility, all associated with the womanly ideal of striving to the best sort of woman."

Mary Love Collins (President of Chi Omega 1910 to 1952)-

"However magnificent Chi Omega's purposes, realization of them is determined by the ability of the individual members...Intelligence guides the choice of the ways."

Pearls from Kirk

Former National President, Kirk Bell Cocke, a university professor herself, used to say (and I'm paraphrasing):

"An education is one of the few things some people are willing to pay for and never receive."
