Post Lying in the Name of Discretion

My friend's boyfriend has been lying to people about the fraternity that he wants to join, instead of avoiding the question. Everyone thinks that he wants to join xyz fraternity, even some of its members. Now, he is having a hard time getting on the line for abc because word got back to them that he wants to join xyz.

I just wanted to see what everyone else thinks about the predicament that his lies have put him in.

Cool

He created a mess for himself-that's for sure; but it can be overcome. He has hard times ahead trying to convince his true choice that they are the one he really wants.
People change their minds.

Red face

Repeat after me: "Honesty is the best policy." Honest living and behavior is always the best policy. Instead of "shooting of the hip" everytime the topic came up, he should have definitely said "no comment" for that decision is a private one.

much respect...

while i am not a member of any organization i am fascinated as to why someone would do that...wow...i don't know anyone who has actually lied and said they were pledging/or interested in pledging something else when they really weren't.
that is quite frankly a bad choice. and like another poster said "he made his bed so now he must lie in it"
but i have heard of people saying "none of your business" when questioned or as akatude said..."no comment".

peace

I would like to add why would someone want to brag and boast about an organization that they want to become a member of. Being discreet only saves one self-esteem from embarassment if membership is not permitted. So I feel if you want to pledge do it in a way that you will not be humiliated by others that you have bragged to about pledging xyz organization.

BE DISCREET!!!!!
