travel clubs or travel groups

my friend and i are interested in traveling (i.e. backpacking through europe ect.) but want to go with a group of people.
does anyone know of any clubs, groups or organizations that does this sort of thing?
i have looked on the internet, but haven't come up with much.

You might want to try Lonely Planet , specifically the message board Thorn Tree. They, at least, might be able to point you in the right direction.

You could also try www.ricksteves.com . Check out the message boards and stuff. Like Lonely Planet, it might help point you in the right direction. I think the Rick Steves company does tours sometimes, too.
