Stress Relievers....Any Suggestions?
The past semester was soooooo stressfull for me that it took two and a half weeks of my break before I could really feel relaxed. Then it was time to go back.
I think that if I had some type of stress relief technique last semester I would have been much better off.
Music has always been my means of escape. I used to sing with a band, and the few hours a week of practice was more than enough to get me through. I was a much happier person in those days. However, since I've moved to a new state, I had to leave the band and I hardly have time to do anything let alone find a new group of people to vibe with. I desperately miss the creativity that developes when a group of people get together and make music.
If I don't find something to do this semester, I don't know what will happen. Y'all might see me on the 10 o'clock news in my robe and P.J.'s with rollers in my hair lookin all crazy because I'm holding the school hostage for "100 million dollars". :eek dont look at me, I got that idea from Dr. Evil )
Please help me before that happens.

I know that there is nothing like a good hot bubble bath to get all the stress out, but if you are the creative type why don't you write some music just for yourself. Doing something you love is always a good stress releiver. I know that I love to dance and when I feel the pressure building I turn on my favorite cd's and let the music move me.

I find that a "pampering" session where i give myself a facial or manicure or pedicure is a good pick-me-up. (PS...You can sing to your hearts content while you treat yourself)

I'm all about pampering!!
Serenity, you can also try yoga. Get a tape for beginners. There's a lot of stretching involved, but it's really relaxing. You could also try meditation. Meditation is the best high.

I do meditation. It's amazing to see how breathing and being still can do wonders. I took a yoga class a few semesters ago and I still do the routine at least 3 times a week. To some people it maybe boring, but it's really relaxing. It also helps to improve flexibility-FYI.
