Cool Baby shower game ideas

I'll be having a baby shower in a few weeks and wondering if anyone had any ideas for games/activities that my guests could participate in!

It's been two years since I hosted my best friend's baby shower, but I remember a fun game where you give each guest about 10 diaper pins or clothes pins and pick a key word like "baby" and whoever catches someone else saying the key word gets to take a pin from that person. The person with the most pins at the end of the shower wins a gift.
I also remember a baby word unscamble, we did about 25 words related to babies, i.e. cribs, bottle, etc. and scrambled them up. We gave the guests 5 minutes to unscramble the words and whoever had unscrambled the most words when time was up wins a gift. There's also the guess mommy to be's weight or waist measurement. Everyone writes down what they think she weighs and the person who is nearest to the correct number wins a gift.(My best friend was ashame of her weight, so we cut a ribbon that was the exact size of her waist and let the guests cut their own ribbon to what they thought her waist was, the person closest to the correct size won the gift). Also, if mommy to be knows the name of her baby already, we compiled a list of names (including the correct one) whoever guessed the right name won a gift. That's all I can remember for now. Good luck and have fun!!!

I've played the clothes pin game but they took a pin everytime you crossed your legs. Needless to say that all my pins were taken because...
*in my best Shenene voice*
"I'm a Laaaaaady"

And a baby shower just ain't a baby shower without that old cotton ball game.

Talking

Here's one I liked.........Once guests are settled, pass around a roll of ribbon and let each person take off as much or as little as they like. Later on the person has to tell how they know the guest of honor...the amount of time spent talking is how long it takes the person to wrap the ribbon around their finger (I hope I explained this right ). Its usually funny because people take a lot of ribbon (thinking its the game where you try to guess the "width" of the expectant mother.

Another game is where you place "baby" objects (bottles, rattles...) in a bag and have guests try to guess whats in the bag. We gave people about 15 seconds and then had them write down their guesses. Who ever has the most wins.

I've also seen the "taste test". You take jars of baby food and remove labels. Then guests try to figure out whats in the jar.

And for my shower, my Mom had a game similar to "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" where you had to put the pacifier in the baby's mouth. Some of the results were hilarious.

I hope I'm correct. I think the cotton ball game is guessing how many cotton balls are in a jar. We played this one as well.

I must say I love the clothes pins game (no crossing allowed) and I usually WIN!!!!!

Were I come from the cotton ball game is played by taking a bag of cotton balls, placing them on sheet and spreading them out. Then each player is blindfolded and they have about 35-45 seconds to spoon up as many cottonballs into a bowl as they can. It is really fun because we usually hide them once the person is blindfolded or put them all on one side and cheer the person on like they have a whole lot of them in their bowl, when they really have about 2 or 3.

Some other fun games are:

Rice and Safety Pins:
Get the handy-dandy sheet and blindfold again.....A bowl, put white rice and those very small safety pins. When they are together, you can not tell them apart.

Measure the BELLY:
Each guest takes off how many squares they think will fit around the mothers' belly. Closest wins!! I have seen some mothers-to-be cry from the embarrassment!

WordSCRAMBLE:
BE creative and have the mother come up with some words for the guess to unscramble.

ICE Breaker:
Sometimes, most guests do not know everyone name in the room. So nametags are made up from cartoon characters and each guest wears them. Each guest can only call the other person by the designated name they are wearing. When someone is caught calling the person by their real name then they (or who ever beats them to it) can take their Safety pin (We usually use the cute baby ones). The person with the most wins.

The Purse Game:
Ladies, we usually carry the world in our purses no matter what he size is!!!

This is a really fun game. Come up with some things that on the norm one may not think to carry and modernize it. The last time I played it some of the things on the list was:
Doc's Appt. Card, Pager, Cell,Mints,Needle and Thread, Lipstick, Compact,Gum,Mints,D. L.,Groc. Store Club card, Visa, ETc.

That's all I can think of for right now. i'll call my mom and ask her!

A game that we played at a baby shower was called feed the baby. get like 4 oz baby bottles and fill them with soda (soda makes the game harder). You need an equal number of volunteers, one to be parent and one to be baby. you then race to see who can finish the bottle the fastest. it was ahoot wtching grown women trying to suck a bottle.

the cotton ball game: place cotton in a bowl. blind fold your contestants. place bowl on their head. give them a spoon and have them remove cotten from bowl (put it in a plate in theri lap or something). the person with the most cotton removed is the winner. *trick cotton is light so they don't know if thy have cotton on spoon or not.

also go to http://www.babyshower.com to get more suggestions.
