I don't care about it, but I really did not want to see her.

No not really. I think I was more offended by the flag that kid rock was wearing as a poncho.

i think it was fine, she had a pasty to cover up around that area. someone told me that the booby scene was a small preview as to what was next to come, leading up to her brand new cd release. the new cd is suppose to be her sexiest and that "the boys won't know what to do with themselves"

I was on the subway yesterday and these 2 guys who were strangers sitting next to me got into a little argument about it... 1 guy was reading the paper and the other guy was like it's not a big deal and the other guy was like yes it was, it's a "sexual organ!" They went back and forth for a little. I didn't think it was a big deal, I guess it's been a big issue moreso because of the event it occurred at-- kids watch the Superbowl and their parents probably aren't expecting a woman's breast to be exposed like that. I didn't even see the fuss though, at first glance I hadn't even known what happened since it was done so fast.

My mother thought so too.

Oh and it wasn't a pastey on her nipple. It was some sort of nipple jewelry. Go check out the other thread in the Entertainment Forum. OTW posted pictures and you can see it clearly wasn't a pastey.

It doesn't bother me at all. Janet Jackson will not have her image ruined by something minor as that. I think the media, The NFL, the FCC, and some of the Viewers are blowing this incident way out of porpotion.

There's also a thread in politics that I started. Seems that the FCC may fine EVERY CBS television station $27,500 for broadcasting a lewd act.

Well, I may seem a bit old fashioned. BUT, I do think it was very inappropriate for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. I am used to seeing things like that on MTV and cable. But, I do expect CBS, ABC, NBC, etc. to be a bit more conservativeregarding events that the whole family might watch.

I consider myself to be pretty open to such things. But, as a soon-to-be mother, it really bothers me to show something like that on a network at a time when a lot of people watch with their families.
I automatically thought, "What would I have done/said to Max if he were 5 or 6, etc?"

Parents should have a choice as to the content they choose to expose their children to. There were no warnings as to what was about to happen. It would have been acceptable to me if there had been some sort of advance notice given.

(extremely popular television program)
+
(lots of children watching)
+
(no warning that there will be anything not PG rated)
+
(flash of boob)
+
(uncommon nipple jewelry)

=

COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE. PERIOD.

If I had kids, I would NOT want to be forced to answer "Mommy, what was that on her boobies?" If they want to show that on TV, fine, I don't care. Have a 24-hour Pierced Nipple Channel, it's ok with me.

But in the middle of a prime time football game where parents are expecting that the worst they'll see is beer commercials and cheerleaders in short skirts, no way. No excuses.

And I REFUSE to believe that this was an accident. I have never seen a bra where cups just pop off if you tug at them. Either Miss Janet is buying some really cheap underwear, or she's got some really worn out stuff, or maybe, JUST MAYBE, the bra was supposed to fall apart! Hmmmm....I wonder....

You guys! Some of you must have grown up so incredbily sheltered. Have you forgotten how much kids know about sex? And how young?

If the kid was old enough to recognize the context of the exposure. He already knows all about it and has probably seen it somewhere.

Congratulations, many of you have become your moms, or worse your grandmoms.

I didn't see the halftime show, but I heard of the incident. I actually don't know what to think about it. I don't think I care at all about it. I cared more about the game than some halftime show.

Disclaimer-This is gonna hurt me more than it's gonna hurt you.
(Sound familiar?)

James! That may be the most naive thing you have ever said.

Edited because it read too harshly and I didn't intend it to be that way.
