RC Sportswear

So I was just on the Pi Phi website and I was looking at the marketplace section. All the Pi Phi clothes are made by RC sportawear. Well apparently their largest size is a size 10. That is their KL.
I'm not exactly the smalles Pi Phi out there and quite frankly a size 10 is not going to fit.
Well it looks like I will not be ordering off the Pi Phi website any time soon. In fact I don't think I'll be ordering clothes from there out of principal.

Sorry for my rant, but it's a little upsetting.

I don't mean to barge in...

But RC Sportswear does our shop as well. And I never seem to find anything I like. And a size 10 won't do it for me either!

I recently ordered a nice "roomy" long sleeve tee from greekgear.com. It is really nice. And they sent me an email offer of a 15% discount. (enter the word "break", it might still work).

We have been talking about this in my women's studies class--the average woman is size 14 but in most stores that's either a "plus" size or unavailable!

I can't believe that we don't offer sizes larger than 10. Someone should contact nationals, but I don't know how much of a difference it would make. I suppose it's really the fault of the supplier, but still. If my sorority tried to order t-shirts without making L and XL available, some of us would go naked for rush!

Thanks Kristen. I'll check them out.

One of the reasons I love Pi Phi is that everyone is a different shape, size colour, creed ect.

But apprently RC Sportswear thinks we're all stick thin.

Okay, there I go off on a tangent again.

Everyone is complaining about the lack of larger sizes offered by Pi PHi express, but has anyone discussed the issue with the folks at HQ? If they don't know why you aren't ordering from them, the sizes that you want will not magically appear.

I will point out this thread today, but it wouldn't hurt for it to come from a collegiate member who can say "we would have ordered xx number of shirts if you had a size 16"

I would be more than happy to talk to someone at HQ about the reasons that there are not larger sizes at PiPhi express, and offer any ides of how that can be changed.
However, I was also under the impression that the sizing was an RC Sportswear decision and not a HQ desicion.
I have sent an email to Pi Phi Express and to RC Sprtswear. I hope to hear from someone soon.

I have been in communication with the folks at HQ, who have, in turn, been in contact with the supplier.

The sizing in question (XL being a size 8-10) refers to one item of clothing... the pair of fitted sweatpants, which is the only place it is listed. There are a few other shirts listed as "fitted" that run small but the majority of the merchandise is designed to be "non-fitted" meaning that a size XL means 16-18 as most women's clothing lines. If there are any questions, call Pi Phi express and they can tell you how true the sizes run. If you have received any of their catalogs, the models are NOT stick-thin professional models... they are our traveling consultants (average college women)

Thank you for bringing this to our attention... please before you order elsewhere (where the profits don't go to Pi Phi), at least try to find the things you need from Pi Phi express. If you can't find them, please contact HQ and let them know what is NOT being offiered (even if it is that fitted sweatpant in a size 14, labeled as 14 and not something ridiculous like XXXL... ok, I'll get off my soapbox)

Thankyou for clearing that up.

I was under the impression that the majority of the sizing was like that making it difficult for me to purchase clothing items (I still like those sweat pants but I can live without them).

Another question. Is there some specific at HQ that I can speak to about sizes? When I emailed Pi Phi Express at PiPhiExpress@pibetaphi.org I didn't get a reply back. I am wondering if I emailed the wrong person?

If you have specific concerns, I'd send them to the Pi Phi express manager... to find the right people at HQ, go to www.pibetaphi.org and click on headquarters... there's a list there of who's who at HQ... the generic 'piphiexpress' box may not get the same attention.

I was just checking out some of the new clothes on Pi Phi Express and it is very exciting that they've added new sizes.
Unfortunately I am poor college student. My birthday is coming up, maybe I'll get my parents to buy me something.

edited for poor grammar

I'm a big fan of hooded sweatshirts myself. I just hate that the prices are in US dollars. It sucks not having a greek store here, or an online Canadian store. It can get get pretty expensive with the exchange rate, shipping, ect. Because of all that I'm probably the proud owner of the world's most expensive greek letter t-shirt.
I'll just have to be super nice to my parents for the next 2 weeks

Didn't RC Sportswaer have a section on their website about shipping to Canada?

When you go to check out it asks for state/prov, only they don't list any of the provinces, what's up with that. Do they actually want me to do work and contact them. I'm prepared to spend and arem and a leg to buy something and they are not making it easy for me.

I'm just having a bad day.

End of rant.
