Size: four respected studies

There are four studies that are well respected in the penis size world. These are their results.

1.

The first one is the famous Kinsey Sex Institute study. In the 1960s they asked over 3500 college males to measure themselves.

average penis length: 6 inch (15.2 cm)

average penis girth: 5 inch (12.7 cm)

Then there is the now famous Richard Edwards' Definitive Penis Size Survey Results with over 3000 participants. (not online anymore)

average penis length: 6.3 inch (16 cm)

average penis girth: 5.1 inch (13 cm)

Another survey is the one done by Durex (just under 3000 participants):

average penis length: 6.4 inch (16.3 cm)

average penis girth: 5.2 inch (13.3 cm)

A more recent study was performed by Lifestyles Condom Co. in Cancun Mexico in March 2001 (see ABCNEWS.com). They measured 300 college-aged students:

average penis length: 5.9 inch (15 cm) *

average penis girth: 5 inch (12.7 cm)

* The exact figures of the Lifestyles study are 5.877 inch for length and 4.972 inch for girth. However, it is silly to put much attention on such decimals from a study that measures 300 men, with a world population of about 1.5 billion adult men.

those "average" girth calculations seem a bit too generous to me

I can honestly say i haven't measured and I have never had any complaints. And I'm glad I don't have to buy magna condoms, got enough issues shopping for tall and thin pants. Don't need to worry about extra bulk in the crotch region.

Its circumference, not diameter. Also, you might just be dating the wrong men.

No kidding. I know what girth is.

not that many men on here would be honest about their size or even admit it anyway

My wrist is 5 1/2 inches around. Granted, I have small wrists, but I don't believe that the average size of a man's penis is the same size as my wrist.

This thread reminds me of the joke about why girls are so bad at math.

At what point are these measurements taken? I mean, is it when he's, um...at attention?

The measurements are taken on the honor system. The participants promise to tell the truth. Works like a charm.

wow! you do have small wrists! I have pretty small wrists and mine are a little over 6"

I used the ruler from my planner (thin plastic) to make a 5.5" loop and it looks about accurate to me
