? about diamonds
Ok, my cousin is mad becuase her hubby bought her a man made diamond necklace. Not CZ, but man made diamonds (there is a major difference).
Now the necklace is stunning and only a profesional with proffesional equipment could tell they are not natural diamonds.
Would you be upset if some one bought you lad-created diamonds instead of earth mad diamonds? remeber they are not cheap cubic zirconia.

I don't know if I would be mad necessarily, but maybe a little disappointed, because I like the idea of natural gemstones--knowing the "time and effort" that went into the creation of them is what makes them beautiful, even though none of them are perfect. Saying they're lab-created, to me, makes the gemstone a little less interesting. Still beautiful, and not cheap, and I wouldn't complain, but I guess I'm too traditional and sentimental.

I don't think I would be mad--- but I wouldn't be telling people it was lab created.

If he tried to pass it off as a natural diamond, I would definitely be mad. It would depend on the circumstances otherwise.

After reading about the evils of the diamond industry, I wouldn't care at all, in fact, I would prefer a lab created diamond or a different stone entirely.

I wouldn't care if it was cubic zirconia if the man I loved bought it for me. Does it look nice? Did he go to a lot of effort? That matters more than where the diamond came from.
If he tried to pass it off as a real diamond and when I got it appraised for insurance purposes found out otherwise, THEN I'd be po'd because he was dishonest.

Some of the fake stuff looks real and is expensive. I have cz earrings and diamond earrings and most people can't tell. I would feel really bad if I lost the diamond earrings.

I wouldn't care.
Like a_b said.... it's the thought behind it that counts.

ok, no he did not try to pass it off as a nature diamond, but it is a real diamond.
A lab diamond and a earth diamond have the same chemical and physical characsttics, but a cubic zirconia does not.
The necklace is beautiful and he got it beucae he saw it and thought it would look perfect around her neck.
I tried explainning to her she should be excited and proud.
Chris

I wouldn't say it would bother me, but I would def. prefer the real thing. Even if everyone believes it's real.....I would know the difference. My mother is a big fan of Diamonique pieces from QVC, and it does look real, but I always tell her that she knows she's sporting the fake stuff

I have a pair of these lab-created diamond earrings, and they're just beautiful! They weren't cheap, but they were definitely less expensive than natural diamonds and I'm not afraid to wear them for fear that I'll lose them. I don't see anything wrong with these kind of "fakes"...

why in the world should she be mad.. he got her a necklace bc he thought that it would look good on her. I think that shows that he cared and thats what matters. Its a gift.
personally i would be happy.. though i would rather have a guy show me and tell me that he is crazy about me than giving me expensive gifts anyday (not saying the necklace wasnt expensive)

i would not care that it was a man made diamond for anything EXCEPT my engagement ring. the necklace i probably wouldn't wear everyday - but my engagement ring is something i will wear and treasure daily, so I would want a real diamond.
but other than that - it's the thought, he thought she would look gorgeous in the necklace, that counts!
