Question Mascot Question

Another post from me, I get so bored at work. Anyways, I've heard that we are not supposed to tell anyone the name of our mascot...I'm redoing our chapter website and I have noticed that some chapters have it on there, while others don't. I just wanted to get the straight answer. Thanks.

More questions

Along with the mascot name, what other things are a big no-no? I've heard that minutes are a negative on non password protected sites. Is there anything else?

Becca,

You're asking great questions! Due to the public nature of this forum, you'll get the best advice (and keep things private here) by going to your chapter's NB contact (see my other post for details). Any member can contact the chapter's NB contact, not just the chapter president, so feel very free to make use of this great resource available to you as a chapter member.

As for minutes, my opinion would be that these are probably better kept to a password protected site as they may contact details of disciplinary actions or other information you don't want everyone to see. Some chapters email them out as PDFs or email text to a list of their members instead. You could also consider posting a summary from each meeting of key items that would be fine on a public site. Hope all of this helps -- can't wait to see your updated site!

Sisters, Beth

p.s. As a general FYI to anyone who is wondering, the MEANINGs of our traditions and ceremony details are secret... check w/your NB for more info.
