Funniest Freshman (or Upper classman) Moments...
Greetings, everyone. My baby sister is getting ready to graduate from high school next month. So, I was trying to think of a good gift for her. I've settled on getting her a journal, so that she can record all of the interesting goings on (especially the funny moments) during her freshmen year...Then, some of THE funniest moments my crew & I experienced came to mind...
This one particular night we (wanting to be grown & disregard curfew) when to a party. Needless to say, when we came back the dorm was locked...oh, but not to fear, we had a game plan. All we needed to do was get my roommate's attention (she NEVER went out). We threw rocks for a minute...no luck. So, then, the bright idea came up that someone needed to climb (or scale, rather) the wall & knock on the window. My friends were from NYC & MD. So, I'm like "I'm from GA, yo...my sister & I climbed trees & stuff all the time". I easily scaled the wall, woke her (my roommate), and got her to open the door....PROBLEM..I didn't know how to get down (the surface below was stone)...So, my friends were like "jump, jump, we'll catch you"...I was like Heeyelllll NO! After laughing hysterically for a few minutes (a lifetime to me on that wall), they ended up going to get one of the security guards (across campus, mind you) to come help me. The whole time I was there, stuck on the wall in a serious Spider Man position (I'm talking about with my face & hands pressed on the wall, the left leg straight, right leg bent slightly). Them heifers couldn't even speak well enough to explain to the security guard why I was like that. He was just like "I hope you learned a lesson". To this day when we reminisce, that's always one story that's re-hashed...UGH!!!!!

I remember when I first entered college (2 weeks after HS graduation), I met my "friends". Each weekend, there was a block party at school. So, trying to be grown, even though my friends were "more grown" than I was. They were not "as sheltered" as I was.
So at the parties, you had to have a drink of "something". The drink back then was Cisco. That was before it had the label of "liquid crack". Anyway, we had our cup of liquid crack. Needless to say, we all were messed up, to say the least.
The party was a lonnnnnnnng way from our dorm. We were literally running for dear life trying to get back to our dorm to take care of our needs. Just as we make it to the dorm, it's after midnight and the front doors were locked (we didn't have curfews). It took the dorm mother the longest to open the door (at least at that moment, it seemed like it). We get in the dorm, had to wait for the elevator to get us on the sixth floor to our bathroom.
Needless to say, some of us made it, some did not! After that night, I never tasted that drink AGAIN! That was June 1990!

Freshman year of college was a trip.
I went to college, and roomed with my bestfriend from high school.
We pretty much felt like we were
"bad to the bone", because we always
knew we had each other's back.
Plus, we were from Chicago, so we were "big city" girls, and we didn't take no stuff.
Anyway, being the dare devils that we were, and being as naive as we were, we had a tendacy to get cool with people, after only knowing them for like some hours or something.
Well, this one particular night, this guy had been hanging around the dorm. Everybody seemed to know him, so he was cool with us. He started giving us some sob story about wanting to crash in our room. Being the "savy sophisticates" that we were, we were like "whatever". Y'all don't hear me though, we were in our nightgowns and all, with some guy we had met hours before, sleeping on our dorm room floor.
Well, thank God for His grace, because nothing happened, but the next day, one of our friends, who was a sophomore, came into our room. She was like, "Girl, I saw 'CRAZY' Mike coming out of here this morning. Girl, y'all better stay away from him, you know he's a campus rapist! He tried to rape me last year!"
Needless to say, we were like "WHAT???????????????????????"
We had to seriously review our "open door" policy from that day on.

Miss Mocha, Can you edit your post? You are messing up the alignment of the board.
Freshman year was WILD!!!!! I don't have enough room to tell all of my stories. Here is one of the crazier ones. My dorm was having a blackout and we were all in the halls conversing with each other. One of the RAs came out and told us to lock our doors because people go into open rooms during blackouts and steal things(ie. Whatever isn't tied down). So we were heading to our room to lock our door and we hear a commotion in my Boy's room. We run over and there was a local from the neighborhood taking his VCR and he was getting whupped by my boy. We were shocked at first but it was hilarious later.
I go to Morehouse so anyone that has been to the AUC knows how wild the locals get.

My freshman year in college I was on the payphone talking to my ex-boyfriend(my 1st love from high school, he stayed in Michigan, I went to school in Florida) and my roommate came running and screaming I said what's wrong she said somebody broke into our room and stole everything(she went to take a shower and we had community bathrooms). I dropped the phone and went running to our room.....her tv was gone, my shoes, jewelry, deodorant, and even my pictures, so I started crying and went and told the dorm counselor....next thing I know I hear bursts of laughter coming out of the back room in the dorm counselors office and when I went to look it was 2 of my sweetheart sisters and one of my sorors(my soror was an RA).....the dorm counselor said I knew yall were up to something.....I was laughing and crying at the same time......they had my roommate in on it and everything.......I told them off and they said well the next time we come visit you...you better not ignore us because you're on the phone....they had put the tv under the bed, deodorant in my closet, I mean they hid everything......the next time they came to visit me I didn't ignore them...

After almost a decade of keeping this on the down-low (with the exception of the local Black college community knowing this), I am going to tell you about my funniest freshman experience.
I was a contestant in a "Wet Drawers Male Revue", yes I was a stripper for one night. Well, that was a funny experience in more ways than one, because I was topless, but didn't take my pants off (i just wore some tight black jeans). Also, I gyrated my hips nervously as if a cobra was going to bite my "goodies" if I got to into it too good. I danced like Tom and George did on the Jeffersons when they were accidently featured as dancers in a strip club.
Oh, and flyers were posted all over campus, with my name getting top billing. It had the names of all the other contestants, and then it read: "Special Feature, Rain "Erkel" Man, The Campus Mack." Y'know, if I had at least one good stiff drink before the show, I probably would have took off everything. Boy, I was the talk of campus for WEEKS!!
Another funny undergrad experience:
Well, two years, and two universities later, I was on the receiving end at a female revue at a nearby club not far from the university. Two women in skimpy bikinis were dancing around. The host was trying to get dudes to buy lap dances, at $25, $50, and $100 you get a private room, and dudes were tight on the cash. Don't ask why, but I figured "nothing from nothing leaves nothing" and paid $25 for an on-stage lap dance. Boy, was I NERVOUS--and lemme tell you something, at age 21 that was the first time I saw a nude woman--I didn't know what to think, but I was glad when it was over. A lot of dudes was upset with me, because I didn't get into it. Hey, maybe I'm just a little too old-fashioned but willing to be a little adventurous now and then.
But those were my moments.
