Confused....

Hello again!

As i was browsing thru past topics (first time on this board) I got confused. I just graduated from high school and gonna go to college in the fall...what does GLOs and BGLOs and NCPs stand for??

GLO=Greek Lettered Organization (does not mean caucasian only!), fraternity or sorority

BGLO=(historically Black) Greek Lettered Organization (though i don't believe membership is restricted to blacks only), fraternity OR sorority can be classified as BGLO

NPC=National Panhellenic Conference (a group of 26 national GLO social sororities)

BGLO=Black Greek Lettered Organization. These are those in the National Pan-Hellenic Conference (Council?), NPHC. There are also some that aren't in the NPHC. They are the frats/sors founded by and for black people, but are not restricted to blacks. A BGLO member can give more info on these.

GLO=Greek Lettered Organization. This term means any frat/sor, but usually means the predominantly white ones, those in the National Interfraternity Conference, NIC, and National Panhellenic Conference (Council?), NPC. This is what you almost always see when you see a frat/sor.

There are also many other types of GLOs, Latino/a, Asian, professional, local, and who knows how many others!
