Question Favorite Theme Parks...?

Hey Everyone,

I just got back from Six Flags Over Georgia. The park had been rented out by the American Academy of Family Practitioners, so it was so uncrowded, at one point my hubby and I were the only people on one of the roller coasters. It was AWESOME!

ANYWAY, I'd be interested in hearing what your favorite theme/amusement park is and why...?

I think mine would have to be Astroworld in Houston. Not because it is the biggest or even the best, but because of all the memories of going there when I was in high school. We used to have so much fun!

Jen

Well, if you like coasters the place is Cedar Point at Sandusky, Ohio.

Wink

Disney World, for sure! Wow, I'd forgotten about Astroworld; I bet it's really changed. I worked there the second summer it was open on the old-fashioned cars and the gravity house.

Do they still have the Alpine Sleigh Ride?

Arrow Re: Alpine Sleigh Ride

Carnation: NO! They got rid of the Alpine Sleigh Ride when I was in high school. In its place they cleared out the area and made it into "Bugs Bunny's World" (a kiddie section).

We were all bummed when it closed. They closed Excaliber too--I couldn't believe it.

Unhappy

They closed the Alpine Sleigh Ride? Crap! It was the best place to go in the summer!

Whe it first opened, they had a guy dressed in an Abominable snowman costume and he would leap out from behing different rocks to scare the riders. High school boys loved to sneak tomatoes and other projectiles onto the ride to throw at the Snowman and Astroworld practically had to hold a gun on the male employees to get them to be the Snowman.

Wink Wow, this is a hard ?

Wow, this is really hard for me to answer! (Not really)

Without a doubt, I will say Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

When I was in high school, my marching band had the opportunity to march through the Magic Kingdom and open the Spectromagic Parade. To this day I cry when I watch a HS marching band in the Magic Kingdom - What memories!

Also, in college (a year ago, as a matter of fact) I had the opportunity to work for the company, and spread the magic to Millions of people. It's a different reality, and an amazing place to have in your memory. The things that I learned there affect me in so many ways.

No question about it - Walt Disney World Resort!

(though Cedar Point is cool too!)

I grew up in Michigan to!!! I loved the summer time cause my grandparents would round a bunch of us up and take us out there. My favorite thing to do was to wave to the people on the Blue Streak and see if they would wave back at me.

I'll have to go with good old Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh.

It's not the biggest or the fanciest park, but it's been a magical place for me ever since I was a child.

Besides, where else is Noah's Arc an amusement park ride???
