Please Help: Info on Dillard University
Greetings ladies. I am a first time poster and long time lurker on this board. I am trying to find info on Alpha Kappa Alpha at Dillard University. I will be transferring there in the summer and I wanted to know if they had intake for Spring '01. I will be a graduating senior in 2001-2002, and I'm trying to find out if I will be able to attempt membership into the organization during my last year as an undergrad. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I'm pretty sure the chapter has a web site--check Dillard's web site and do a search.
Keep in mind that transfer students cannot automatically pursue membership when they get to their new schools--they have to have at least one grading period at their new school under their belts. That means you'll be pursuing membership during the second semester of your senior year (Spring 2002), assuming the chapter has a line that semester.

Beta OOOOpsilon (Upsilon) in da house!! (smile)
....I can tell you there was no line this year...as for your other questions....search, search and search (smile).
I'll be visiting my alma meta in Oct. this year for my lines 10 (yes 10 year) reunion (smile).
If you have anymore simple queries -- like if they had a line...I would be more than "happy" to reply via email. Just post your addy. Most of our basic information can be found out on Nat'l web page or the chapter's webpage.

Thanks for all your responses. That was basically my only question (About a line for Spring '01). I've been visiting Beta Upsilon's site since last semester. I know that an interested student has to have 30 hours at DU, and live on campus for 2 semesters. I've attended DU's Summer school before, and I'll be registered full-time again this summer for both sessions, so next year I'll just be anxiously attempting to pursue membership. Thank you Happydaysf91 for extending your help through email. If I have any simple questions that cannot be answered through my own research, I will be sure to take advantage of your kindness. Again, thanks to all of you.

You need to check DU's requirements. I don't know if summer school counts when seeking mebership, you better do some research @ DU!
Historically, (from what I am familiar with) summer school does not count, only Spring and Fall semesters....
Do your research!
