PUFFY TO CHANGE NAME
In his first interview since being acquitted, Sean "Puffy" Combs said he will be changing his name to get away from all the bad press that his current name has received. His new name: P Diddy. Why would he change it to that when basically everybody in the hip hop world already refer to him by that name sometimes. It just doesn't make sense. Also he said he wants to start anew. How are you going to start over if you are planning a ceremony where Bill Clinton will officially change your name and you want Elton John in the back singing "I'm still standing?" It sounds like another publicity ploy to me but what do you guys think?

I guess he is making it so elaborate so a lot of people will know to call him P.Diddy . That is the only reasoning that I can come up with.

If any of you listened to the Russ Parr and Olivia Foxx morning radio show, you would of heard Russ saying something to the effect that instead, he should take the P and D off and put a "SH" in front of it to get"Shiddy", that would me more like it!
I totally agreed and started to LMAO!!!!!

I heard about this on the "Today" show. A change in name doesn't change who you are. That has to happen from within. I know P.D. has done quite a bit of positive things, but only the negative will grab the headlines. Some people can be a magnet for trouble.
I believe his recent trial was a wake-up call. All he needs to do to start anew is to seek HIM. He needs to reclaim his personal relationship with God.
Then, he needs to change his lifestyle. I heard him talk about spending more time with his children and his family. He also needs to distance himself from those who may threaten his new sense of self. Actions speak louder than words.

Hell I even like Sean John better than P Diddy.
Yeah, people have been calling him that for years. It's time for him to grow up and stop playing this Amos and Andy game, under-educated, unintelligent black man. He needs to stop selling a negative image a black people and show society that he and all black people for that matter can be professionals in a realm where professionalism goes a long way.
You don't have to "sell out" to grow up nor forget your roots. (just let your roots grow into a tree that all will marvel over, you feel me?)

Hello SFs!
This morning on Regis & Kelly I heard about "P. Diddy" for the first time and I thought they were kidding...and then I saw this topic in your forum!
I don't know if you guys caught TRL today, but Carson Daly had a hard time keeping a straight face every time he said "P. DIDDY". People called in and emailed from all around the country giving their suggestions for better names. Some of the good ones: Puffalufagus (after Sesame Street's Snuffy) and DJ Sexual Chocolate (I really liked that one).
I really hope he doesn't go through with this. If anything, go with Sean John.

If he wants to really "change" his image, so to speak, why won't he just use Sean Combs?
P Diddy, Puffy, Puff Daddy all that crap is da same!
Just my opinion, of course!
