***If you own any animal***
for Christmas, I went to Petco to get my 8 cats a present. i found a laser light toy for $6.99. i figured i had nothing to lose by getting it.
well, my cats are OBSESSED with it. OBSESSED!!!!! i have since bought 2 more and given them away as gifts and their cats love them too.
it is supposed to work for any animal--cats, dogs, even fish!
just don't shine the laser in their eye.
what's really cool about it is that you can lure your animal into any room (even a cage) because they will follow the light anywhere (including up the wall which is the funniest thing i've ever seen!). my aunt has used it for her 2 outdoor feral cats to get them into a cage to bring them to the vet. she thought she'd never be able to catch them!
it even comes with it's own batteries!
definitely a must have for any pet owner!

Everyone I know who has cats or kittens has a laser pointer. We used to drive our kitten crazy by running it along the floor and then up the wall, and she would go after it! It was the cutest thing! And such a cheap form of entertainment.

LoL... all the rottweilers I've had have chased flashlight beams. It gets really annoying when you're trying to look for something under your bed, and you find a dog head peeking out the other side. My ferrets are only interested in something new for .3 seconds. Then, they have to move on to bigger and better trouble. ^^

I've never heard of this! I will have to get one! My puppy knows when I am going to put her out, so she runs and hides. Hopefully this will be something that works! Thanks!!

I agree!!
I discovered the joy of laser lights after confiscating one from a student. My cats are completely riduculous. My male is funniest. I can shine it on the wall over my bed, and move it back and forth quickly. He'll use his paws to try to catch it. If I go away and come back, say 30-45 minutes later, he will still be sitting on the bed watching the wall, waiting for the light to come back on!!!!! He has run up curtains, onto dogs, other people, he gets possessed and loses what little judgement he has. I laugh until I cry. You're all correct... this is wonderfullly cheap entertainment.

you all have me laughing so hard!!
last night i had 5 cats, yes 5, on my bed trying in vain to catch the light. the funniest is when i shine it on one of their behinds and they all go after it!
amycat---you should try the laser. my cats also like a flashlight but get bored easily with it. the laser is much more defined and since it is red, i think that might help get their attention. (or maybe they can't even see the color red, i don't know!)

Did your Petco have a raffle for the Humane Society? We paid for two chances for our little Buffy, and he won the main prize! Most of the stuff was chew toys for larger dogs, but the free grooming was WONDERFUL!!
Do they still make that "fishing rod" with feathers on the end for kitties? That can keep them busy for hours, too!

My cats LOVE the little red light!! They will chase it right up the wall. They are so funny when you turn it off - they look all around trying to figure out where it went.
