Who likes being home?
Now I have not been home in 4 months because I live in DC and go to school in Massachusetts. I was looking forward to going home and seeing my family and all. In less than 24 hours I had a mop in my hand and a few days later I was thoroughly cleaning out the refrigerator. This is supposed to be my "vacation" where I can rest up from all the mental and psychological stress that I have endured from the past semester lol. Does anyone else have similar stories?

About an hour ago, I was busy washing my parents' cars. And it wasn't my choice. Joy.

I live with my family, so I never left it. But I will be going to AZ next month, so I will get back to every one when I leave and then come home.

I moved back in with the 'rents after graduation....so basically I've gone back to the same jobs I did before college....isn't too bad, though. I don't pay rent, don't pay for groceries, etc.

It was the same for me when I would go home for break! Mom would be in my room at 8 am asking me when I was going to get up and start my day, did I always sleep in this late when I was away at school, etc. It drove me nuts!
Just wait 'til you graduate and get married...then it's when are you coming home, we haven't seen you in so long (even though they don't come visit you), can't you take time off work to come see us, etc., and it's a guilt trip of a completely different sort!

my mom felt the need to blame me for the things she hasn't been able to blame for in the 4 months i've been away. even though they're STILL not my fault. i'm going crazy!

Bwa ha ha...
I'm living large right now. There's nothing like being at home in Florida, when it's 70 degrees, with NOTHING TO DO. The most strenuous thing I've done this whole week was wrap my Christmas presents. I don't have to worry about cleaning or maintenance, and the extent of my help will probably be helping to do some Christmas baking. (SmartBlondeGPhiB--to answer your question, yes, we do)
Ahh, the beauty of being the youngest child in a house where everyone's happy to have you home from grad school.

Yeah my parents hate that i sleep late!!! I have gone out to eat with them every night at terrible restaurants BUT I ahve probably run up the cable bill by ordering movies on Pay-Per-View--hey I had nothing else to do.

I love being home b/c the city and suburbs of Chicago have my heart and my parents are my best friends.
** Officially the cheesiest post to ever grace the pages of GC **
Of course, it's not fun to be TOLD you're not going out or you ARE going somewhere when you're 21. ("Like hell you're leaving the house!!!!! You will go to church with us this morning, Julie Anne!!!)And I am not feeling the self sobriety tests/twinge of truth when I walk in the door.
But I have a job here, the friends I've had for ages are here, and I'm never looking for stuff to do. I love being home.

I'm so sick of being home and my mom tells me I have the same freedoms here as I do when I'm at school. Like heck I do when I'm expected to be her designated driver the same night as a big party of people from high school. I also can't go to my own new years eve events...I have to be part of the family.
My parents also do the annoying thing of making me clean the house and anytime I go upstairs or in the basement I get a list of things to bring back with me. Sometimes I think they had kids just so they wouldn't have to leave the first floor of our house!
