Everyone knew UH would win tonight.

I am a MESS.

The "not-BF" was in the middle of the melee as he tried to stop one of the many different brawls, and I'm in the stands trying to fend off flying cups of beer. People around us couldn't understand why the drunk Asian chick was crying for ten minutes.

Tonight I witnessed what was probably the best and worst of college football.

The game was a nailbiter, eventually ending with my school's win over Houston 54-48 in triple freaking overtime. Emotions were running high because both teams fought to the death, IMO, and well...you saw it all. If you didn't see the game, it's on SportsCenter.

And this guy ....

He didn't even start today. At last count he passed for 475 yards.

They couldn't hide the fact that Aloha Stadium was under "high terror alert". No purses or backpacks were allowed into the stadium. There were three times as much cops, PLUS FBI agents, PLUS snipers strategically placed around the stadium. Someone called in a threat this morning, and as if that weren't enough...there was a "suspicious package". So yeah, security was beefed up for the spectators, but it was as if the guys on the field needed it more.

Finally, we always hear about "SORE LOSERS", but after tonight, I saw what a "SORE WINNER" was for the first time. I'm glad my Hawai`i Warriors got the W, but sometimes it's best to turn the other cheek.

And hello...when you instigate a fight with a group of Polynesians, the LAST thing you do is take off your helmet!!!

I really hope that the kids both teams visited yesterday at Shriners Hospital had their TVs turned off by that time.

Still, it was a great game and I'm still proud to be a Warrior.

I watched that game. It was amazing how in those first few bowl games that you'd see a combined score of 100+ and over 1000 yards run.

Ya'll didn't play much defense, but it was fun to watch.

The little melee at the end though was just dumb. It represents all that is going wrong with college football.

It's not limited to your Warriors or the Cougs though. I saw a similar scrum at the OU-TX game a few months back. It didn't last nearly as long and I don't think there was much more than pushing. I also don't believe it was on TV as it occured during pregame warmups.

The bottom line is that when players act like this, they shouldn't receive special treatment. They should go to jail for assault.
