Appropriate Big-Big Sister Gifts

So both of my littles will be taking littles this year. Do y'all have any ideas for what I could get the new members of my family? I just want one nice, tasteful gift for each of them.

OK- think of me as the sentimental person but I think the most meaningful gift would be something handmade. Anyone can buy a letter shirt but if you make something it'll show your sisterhood bonds evem more.

Being crafty is not as difficult as it might seem. There are tons of cute, creative things you could do:
*Scrapbook pages with pics of you and your little with appropriate angel/arrow decorations and then semi-blank pages so the new grand-little could add her pics or have a 'history page' with pics of your big/ grandbig so she could relate to some alums as well.
*Charm bracelet/necklace (easily made with beads obtained at Micheals/ Hobby Lobbey)
*Picture frames, esp if you've decorated them
*Pillow cases decorated... fabric paints are easy to use. You can also get computer paper that is an "iron on" that you could use pics of her family
*Denim shirt decorated with fabirc paints/ beads (Ok, I'm in Texas and that's what I wear all the time)
*Bulb ornament painted (they are clear plastic or glass, I bought a bunch at the Boxing Day sales and haven't painted them yet)

And then, there are the ceramic "paint your own" places where you could do a decorated ornament for each of them (an angel perhaps?) or better yet, TAKE THEM with you and paint each other something (the places I've been to have a variety of items such as mugs/ pin boxes/ ornaments/ picture frames).

Anyone else have fun ideas??

I recieved a very simple angel statue that was also very beautiful from my grand-big. I still display it to remind me of her even though she graduated. I think she got it at hallmark or one of those similar places.

If you wanted to make something you could buy a picture frame from hobby lobby with a wide border and glue/paint pi phi symbols on it and then put a picture of the family in it.

hope this helps! I need to think of things also!

Jess

Here are some ideas.. i have to think about this as well bc I will be going to visit my new greatgreat grandlittle and a new great gradlittle soon.. my litte ones are so great.. i talk to all of them like everyday!!!

Last year for my great-grandlittle I made a photo album.. I got fabric and covered a photoalbum.. then put pi phi wooden block letters on it.

You could also make one of those photo ribbon things.. cant really think of a name for them.. haha but a bunch of sisters have made them in the past..

Also I know another cute idea.. i got this idea from a friend of mine who makes her own mirrors.. well you can buy a cheap framed.. any size.. mirror from say walmart. Then get that plaster type stuff and mosaic tiles in pi phi colors from the craft store.. then put the plaster stuff around the frame and then mount the broken up tiles on there.. hopefully this helps a little with the idea.. you can go to the craft store and figure it out there better
