New Baseball Trade Rumor
Kenny Lofton is on the verge of signing with the Yanks. What's going to happen to Bernie since both play CF?

Bernie will DH - he's really not that great of a centerfielder now, his range is going fast and he's never had a great arm.

Not with Nick Johnson going to Montreal - now Giambi will have to play first base a lot more (although the team should get a good defensive 1B to help out in late-inning games, etc.)

Lofton is just another aging player to add to the Yankees roster.
They are turning into the Raiders of Major League Baseball.

I'm a little concern about the ageing of the organizations. However, they haven't gone toward the NY Rangers of signing old people for a lot of money for no apparent reason.

I know. Omar had some problems with he knees and Had two sugeries performed on it. The Indians felt that Omar was a dead weight with the money he's getting and the fact that he's getting older, so that's why Mark Shapiro was talking with Seattle's G.M. about their Shortstop. As of now, Omar is still a member of the Tribe. I, personally, don't want Omar to go but that's the reality of this Business.

Noh-mah Gah-cia-pahha
Supposedly, Noh-mah, the newlywed, may be headed to the Chicago White Sox for Magglio Ordonez. I can tell you that people out here on the West Coast (namely Dodger fans, I'm not one of those will be 'cized if Noh-mah doesn't end up out here.
And I wonder about Miguel Tejada. Oakland wins. Baltimore's been a mess. How improved might they be?

The White Sox needs Magglio. He's their Best Player. Nomar needs to stay in Boston. With the addition of Curt Shilling, the Bo Sox might get that extra push for the World Series that they needed.
