New York
I'm planning a trip to the Big Apple. I wanted to get opinions from my fellow greekchatters of nice and fun places to go and things to do in addition to the tourist arena.

The Frick Collection
Go see the Frick Collection, its a great museum that won't take you 2 weeks to see in its entirety.

Katz's Deli
Also, you have to go to Katz's Deli and get a Pastrami Sandwich with mustard (no mayo, or you will be shot on sight.)
Here is a great article on Katz's.

While I prefer Papaya King at 3rd Avenue and 86th Street, Arya brings up something interesting. Besides that New York City has the best hot dogs, the phenomenon of hot dogs and papaya juice is a true New York experience.

Oh no! You'll miss St. Patrick's Day in NYC which is also DPhiE Founders' Day, but I digress.
Late winter/early spring in NYC. The weather can be anything from freezing and snowy, to wet and rainy, to warm and beautiful.
I recommend taking a tour. The Circle Line is fun. You can go to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The Empire State Building gives you a great view of NYC and the surrounding area. There are dozens of museums and plays that you could see.
Check out the tourism website for some other ideas.

i really like ellis island's museum.
if the statue of liberty is open by then don't bother. its better appreciated from afar. the schlepping out on the ferry and walking up all those steps just isn't worth it.
i personally think grand central terminal is beautiful so if you're near it just stop in for five minutes.
a tip: in my opinion if you're going to go to time square go at night. it's a lot less crowded and I think all the lights look cooler then.
there's a million funky restaurants, it just matters what you're looking for. check out ny.citysearch.com for suggestions. their ratings usually aren't too far off the mark.

if you're a child at heart, you MUST go to the Toys R Us in Times Square. It's amazing with a ferris wheel inside the store.

I second the Grand Central and Ellis Island suggestions. I went to the latter for a class trip last week--rarely am I ever overly patriotic, but I was on the way back from Ellis Island. It's great!
If you have the time and inkling to take in a show, do so.
Hang out around Greenwich Village--my favorite part of Manhattan!
Central Park--it's a given.
