Relatives Wearing Paraphernalia

I have a question that is directed toward the ladies of AKA (could be silly, but better safe than sorry!):

Is it appropriate for the relative of a member of a fraternity/sorority to wear paraphernalia of that respective organization?

For instance, would it be appropriate for a mother of a sorority woman to wear an article of clothing with "[insert GLO here] MOM"?

I persevered researching the topic because it is up for debate between myself and someone who I feel may be perpetrating as your fellow member, over something as "seemingly" insignificant as this, though I realize it is QUITE significant to understand the connotations of wearing paraphernalia if you are a member, and if you're not ...

May I also add, being that I am not a member, I realize it is not my responsibility to run around questioning those I "doubt". Entirely not my intention nor did that pertain to my actions toward this individual.

However, when this came up among a group of friends, my eyebrow went up at this individual's response, and I decided to ask those who I KNOW would know!

Well, my eyebrow went up, but I left it at that.

P.S. I wanted to add that this is not the first time this person has "raised my eyebrow" nor will it be the last ... their behavior and knowledge of general GLO topics leaves much to be desired, but that is for another topic, another day.
