Are you lucky? Do you win things?
Anyone here have a knack for winning contests, racking up membership points, etc?
For instance, Westlaw (it's an online service for legal cases, etc) has a rewards points system- you log on and get points, there's instant wins, etc.
My friend Lisa and I entered a contest they had- woke up this morning to find out we each won a $50 gift card to Target and 3000 points!
I just won a $10 card to Target 2 weeks ago from there as well.
Redeemed those points (and others that I had) and got a 7pc set of Allclad Emerilware and one of those inflatable exercise balls.
Then I went to redeem my Lexis points (another online service) and I'm getting a Samsung DVD/VCR combo and some kitchen utensils.
Merry Christmas to me
Anyone else out there in GC land have a knack for this sort of thing?

omg girl how many westlaw & lexis points did you have to have to get those decent prizes?!
I hear most of those rewards are crappy.
(plus I hear that there was some really annoying looking asian chick on the one of those sites...real cheesy)

Every once in awhile I get a burst of luck. When I lived in New York, I found a money clip with two $100 bills and a $50 bill on the floor of a subway car. Last summer, I won about $1,300 on the slot machine in Tunica, Mississippi after putting in about five dollars.
But my most magnificant piece of luck (and Dani in particular will understand the significance of this) was deciding to move out of my sorority suite my senior year and choosing number 14 in the housing lottery. Got a great single in Holland Hall with a walk in closet. If I had gotten a high number, the housing possibilities were terrifying!

I'm pretty lucky. We go to the boats about once a year and I just walk from slot to slot and win $25.00 here, $50.00 there. Always win something at BINGO. One time, $2,000.00 I split it with my Mom and "tithed" 10%. You would think with all the Diet Dr. Pepper I drink I would have won SOMETHING, but all I get is-
"Try again".
I do have to have that "lucky" feeling though or else nadda!

Not me!
There was a girl I went to grade school with, who was the luckiest kid alive. Every time there was a raffle or drawing at a school or church event, it was a foregone conclusion that she would win at least one, if not several, of the "better" prizes.
But I do have the "parking spot finding" gift. It only works about half the time. I'll go to the mall, a restaurant, etc. and find a spot 10 feet from the entrance.

Last time I got Lucky, I sign up for a Raffle at the Hard Rock Cafe. I was the first one they call and I won Three VHS movies. One of those include "American Pie".

Not lucky at all... except for my apartment. I won a lottery to get on a Mitchell-Lama waiting list, waited two years, and for the last five years I've been living in a large studio apartment in TriBeCa for $580/month including utilities.

I have the "Luck of the Irish" - I win a lot, but not huge things (so far). I keep track on how much I play the lottery, and so far this year (with less than 14 days to go!), I'm up by $439. When there are raffle tickets or door prizes, I almost always win something, When I was in high school, I worked at a bingo parlor, and so many people at my tables won, I was investigated! No, I didn't cheat - but if I'm playing bingo, you want to be at my table after 10pm!!!
Within the last 3 months, I've won 4 sets of concert tickets, $100, several cds, and a really dorky jewelry box. So, yeah, I think I'm pretty lucky!

HI there,
I'm a Sagitarrius which is considered probably the sign that has the best luck.
I haven't won major things like the lotto but I'm always winning something.
off of webstakes.com I won a HP Monitor at the time worth about $600. I've won beanie babies at the height of the craze (didnt collect them at the time), win raffles quite a bit and usually more then once in a raffle

I tend to think I'm lucky. Sometimes when there's a raffle or contest, I'll just get this feeling, like I just know I'm going to win something, and then about 75% of the time when I get that feeling, I'll win something. When I bet on the horse races, I've always won enough to cover the cost of my ticket and my food for the day. In high school I won the raffle to have one of the 10 best lockers in the school, and last year in the dorms I got assigned the #1 room that I wanted. I lucked out on my plane ride to Germany, too - I was on the one with 50 seats empty, while everyone else I've talked to were on jam-packed planes!
I think it's also just about feeling lucky, though. If you think you're lucky, then it'll confirm itself when you win something, and you'll overlook it when you don't win.

I'm not at all lucky. The only thing I ever won was a gift basket from the Body Shop the summer before I went to college!

I have a knack for getting stuff from radio stations or raffles. Sometimes, radio stations end up just giving stuff away is cool. I got free NASCAR Busch tickets once because no one had won them. Not really a nascar fan but still a good time.
