This is the poem that I read to my first lil sis:
Laugh and I'll laugh with you
Weep and I'll weep too,
For whatever comes to criticize you
Is there to criticize me too.
Work and I'll work with you
Fight and I'll fight too,
For whatever barrier needs breaking
Can be broken by me and you.
Think and I'll think with you
Dream and I'll dream too,
For few share such visions
As are shared by me and you.
Worship and I'll worship with you
Love and I'll love too,
For these are the things worth doing,
And can be done by me and you.
Sisters are like the stars...you can't always see them,
but you know they are always there.
And this is the poem I read to my second lil sis:
There is no Friend like a Sister
There's no better friend than a sister -
There's no one more loyal and true . . .
and even when sisters are different . . .
their likeness come shining through!
Perhaps it's a family resemblance that strengthens the bond they share . . .
or maybe it's just that sisters live life with a similar flair!
A sister remembers your collegehood -
She knows more than you will admit of times you were Little Miss Perfect . . .
and times you gave others a fit!
She's seen you in some situations when silence just wouldn't suffice . . .
and managed somehow to get by with those sisterly words of advice!
And when some encouragement's needed . . .
a sister will always be there . . .
to listen . . .
to laugh . . .
or to lean on . . .
to comfort, or simply to care.
There's no one who's more in your corner . . .
and no one you're more grateful to.
There's no better friend than a sister . . .
and no better sister than you.
and a random poem i gave my first lil:
While the darkness gathers around me
And I start to lose my way,
I search the sky for the brightest star
It's my sister, what else can I say?!
She shows me how to be strong and hopeful
How to deal with doubts and fear,
My sister helps me slay the dragon
Every time it comes near
So when I'm at my lowest
And things have gone too far
I navigate through troubled waters
Guided by the Brightest Star!
