Ideal08,
I saw it the night it premiered on Showtime. Know one I know saw it so I could not discuss it with anyone. I was cracking the hell up.
What do you think about S'More and the "hulla hoop" was that funny or what. I also know that I can never look at Mo'Nique from the Parkers in the same light again. She put it out there for the big girls that night. It was definitely off the chain, what about a Queens of Comedy meeting or touring with the Kings of Comedy.

Peace

Well, Brother Dear, now you know how a lot of women feel about some of these male commedians that dudes think are HILARIOUS. I suppose if you can't relate, then you don't get all the jokes...
Monique DID put it down for the big girls! She was off the chain!
The Queens just did a tour last year with the Kings. They were in the GA Dome and fulled the place to capacity. S'more was on one of the local stations a couple of weeks ago & mentioned that the Queens are doing a tour without the Kings this year.

Sis, you are right, but I was watching with one of your Sorors who did not like it either. I like funny people, not vulgar ones, male or female. It was a woman's point of view, but I think all of them are funny when they are not so over the top. They were trying way too hard and you can't force humor. The Hula hoop thing still has me laughing though. Can you hoop? lol

Queens of Comedy was the most horrible, unfunny bit of trash that I have ever heard. Monique was nowhere near funny. Sommore was slightly amusing (the hula hoop was funny). Miss Laura was not humorous at all. I was very disappointed. Adele Givens was funny in spots. It is not funny for women to try to be even more low class and foul mouth than mediocre male rejects from Def Comedy Jam. Sommore was much funnier on BET. They tried entirely too hard. The Kings of Comedy was nowhere near as gutter level (even Bernie Macs part). Basically, it was insulting.

Can't relate to the Hula hoop thing have not been able to catch the entire show, but I will say that it did seem like they, well Mo'Nique (only one I saw) was trying too hard!
I do think they have talent (from previous shows) and that they are funny, but it was so much cursing that the message of comedy was simply lost. I would like 2 see the whole thing, maybe I will have something different 2 say.

LADYAKA: perhaps I was harsh, but it was in line with the harshness of their comedy. I am sure that it was better in person and I am sure that the range of comedic topics was broader than that depicted in the Showtime special. Nevertheless, maybe it is my gentlemanly nature, but 2hrs of scatological humor is not funny coming from men much less women. I am not a prude in the least, but what they performed was a verbal assault. How many times does one have to cuss in the performance of one joke. A well placed and time expletive is functional for some jokes. But the repetitive nature of certain words detracted from whatever humor they were trying to put across. Foul language is not synonymous with humor. It must be done skillfully, not with a heavy hand, or tongue in this case.

point taken ... on the Showtime show I did say Mo'Nique tried to hard and that was stated because of all the cussing she did, but like you mentioned the live show was better and topics ranged widely and they proved that they do have some skills ...
I just wanted to shout them out and say they were great on stage.
peace!

Okay a retraction needs to be made from my last post.
I was able to SEE Queens of Comedy LIVE this past Friday and I kid you not the $hit was off the hook, it was mad funny.
Queen Adele was the best followed by Queen Mo'Nique. GET THIS- Adele had a dress similar to Toni's but she worked the dress with her built legs and she could move and dance it in...she did comedy about a lot of entertainers ... It was just too funny.
When I saw the whole show I got a different perspective, they were lady like and the jokes were on point. Like Mo'Nique said this is comedy and everything is funny.
DoggyStyle82 you were a bit harsh in your post, I did not feel that way when I saw them. I must say Queen S'More was vulgar, but that is her style and you always gotta have one that will play that part.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed myself, I say try and catch the show live if you can. I caught the midnight show so you know everything and anything goes/went
