Welcome to Greek Life!!

One sterotype that I have found at my school that we are a clic.
I didn't know a lot of my sisters when I pledged, we are now close but I do not spend every waking moment with them. People often think we were all friends before who pledged together or our friends pledged us which is not the case.

Another one I have had personally is that we don't have morals or values because we were pledged. I am a Christian and it's hurts when people say you had to do bad things to get it when they don't even really know what sororities are about. They see the greek letters and automatically think it is bad. I didn't sleep with anyone to get in, neither did I have to drink beer or run around naked. I still have the same values and morals that I have today. I didn't tell my Dad I was in a sorority till October and I have been a member since March. I was afraid he would be disappointed because my family has a strong christian backgroud but her was very supportive and he understood my reasons for joining. He also knows me as a person that I would not degrade myself to joing anything. He was just a little mad I waited so long to tell him. My Mom was supportive through the whole line process when I was pledging, so encouraged me to complete my assignments and attend meeting when I was suppose to. She understood the sorority mentality, which was a surprise to me because she was not born in this country.

Oh, I love Greeks Are Clicks. We a have More money than anyone!

You will soon learn because We as Greeks have to pay more $$$$$$ for Insurance. No We Dont! The reason is because of Some Stupid Chapters Who Do Not Follow The Guide Lines of their HDQ!

Do We as Greeks Follow the Dogma of our Nationals, yes we do! Well for the most part! But, when swome errent Chapter does their own thing, well, when the get caught, it looks bad for all of us!

So, when a Local whom has been around for a while feels free to do this??? Then, you can make your own decision!

Well, that's a surprize. I expected Ohio University or the University of Oklahoma.

Remarkably, having lived in the Detroit area for a while some years ago, I do know where Oakland County is! That's assuming Oakland University is in Oakland County, of course.

greeks are considere 'heavy drinkers'...and sometimes this is true (but so is many outside of the greek system!) I have plenty of sisters who do not drink and do not want to...

As far as sterotypes one that i can think of that hasnt been mentioned yet is people joining to "buy their friends." I think enough people on GC are proof enough that this isnt true.
