Question
Okay I've got a question!
I know that my big sister's big is my grand big and her big is my great big.... is my big sister's other little anything to me?? I know that if she got us at the same time, we'd be twins but that's not the case. We racked our brains trying to figure this out all night tonight!

In my APO chapter, we never formalized the term, but I think we said "Half-Brother."
Half of what....I don't know....

actually, you'd still be considered a twin, in my chapter anyways-- I have two littles and they call themselves twins, although I took them different semesters.

and I have had 3 (all at different times) so I guess they are triplets!

I think we'll go with twins because "half-sister" just doesn't seem right.... we're full sisters!!!
Thanks so much y'all!

In my chapter, you have a twin if you were both taken by your big at the same time.
My big first got me and then picked up 2 more in PC '00. So, I'm not exactly sure what to call them. I call them my twins but, if I went by my sorority's term of twins, I'm technically incorrect.

So, there have been sisters who have picked up 2 little sisters out of a pledge class at the same time???
I have two littles (not in the same pledge class) and they're called twins.

When you have HUGE pledge classes, it's possible. Let's say recruitment '03 brought in a pledge class of 70. Your 2002 pledge class was 70 but, inevitably, some of the girls have dropped. So, that pledge class is down to about 55. Even if every girl in '02 took a little (and not every girl does), you would still have 15 girls without a big. Many of the girls in '01 are too busy to take a little. So, that means that a lot of girls in '02 will be taking twins.

WOW! Our chapter total was usually around 55 with pledge classes of 12....and we were the largest sorority on campus! I had friends in sororities at FSU and UCF and UF where their chapters had like 150 members, but I didn't realize the pledge classes were so big. I assumed like 30 or so, I guess. I don't know what I really thought.
That just blows my mind!!! It's like, how would you get to know everybody in your pledge class AND your sisters in just a few weeks???
That's awesome to have such great numbers. Now I understand why there is confusion over the phrase "twins."

Lil Sisters
In my sorority we only have 9 actives right now and we are looking at a pledge class of about 18. So, some sisters will have to take more than one lil sisters. It's crazy. So, i take it that the correct terms for two lils would be twins. That's cool. I also wanted to know how everyone got their greek letters into their signature cause I don't know how to do it.

I joined last fall and got my awesome big. She took another Little this fall, and she's referred to as my Twin. Its cool though cause we get along great and hopefully will room together next year when she moves into the house(I already live there).
