Thumbs up It's In The Valley I Grow

I felt like someone needed this today....

It's In the Valley I Grow

Sometimes life seems hard to bear,
Full of sorrow, trouble, and woe
It's then I have to remember
That it's in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top
And never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God's love
And would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it's in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan's loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
The mountain tops are glorious
But it's in the valleys I grow!

Thumbs up

Soror,

Towards the end of the day everything went sour. I was just emailing a very dear friend (IF YOU ARE READING THIS, I TRULY APPRECIATE YOU - YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE)telling him all about it. As I emailed my dear friend, the tears began to flow. I thank God for you, my dear soror, for reminding me that "IT'S IN THE VALLEY THAT I GROW"

Skee Wee

Whew, I needed that!

Sorors and SF's, you are all very welcome. It came right on time for me, too. It sounds like we are all going through various things right now that have us in a valley. Has anyone read Iyanla's Value in the Valley? It is SO good. I will continue to pray for you all, and please do the same for me. I hope everyone has a blessed weekend!

Ideal,

thank you so much for posting that poem. sisterfriends, i am going through a tough time right now. this past december i was diagnosed with a pretty serious illness. it affected my academics last semester and i was just told by my doctor that i can't go back to school this semester. this is going to affect my graduation status. right now i feel betrayed, sad and very lonely. i feel that i have done something wrong and im being punished. i usually don't like to post things like this but because i have such a wonderful repoir(sp?) with so many of you i feel that its ok. the poem as put a dent of peace in my soul and to ideal i say thank you. .

Hey SF's,
Just wanted to let you know that I also really appreciate this poem. My dearest friend has been in somewhat of a funk for almost a week, borderline depressed. All of her friends have gotten their acceptance letters to Pharmacy school, this is her second time applying and she has yet to receive a yea or nay. I emailed this poem to her and attached a note that said she is a wonderful person no matter what her GPA, classification, salary, etc., and that I appreciate her just for being my friend. It not only moved her to tears, but she is now back in with us planning our trip to the beach for spring break! I really appreciate the thoughtfulness off my GC Sisterfriends...and for those of you who think you may have something to share and are hesitant....PLEASE SHARE....you never know who needs it, whether it be someone here or someone we know.

Again, Thanks

Diva
