GLOs and Wal-Mart: some good points
Big article in USA Today this week about Wal-Mart and the problems facing the giant company. I thought the Wal-Mart pres, H. Lee Scott, had some interesting things to say:
"What we can't do is give people the fuel to attack us."
Doesn't that apply to GLOs too. We need to stop giving the press, the dean, and others the hazing episodes, the excessive socials, and the other stuff they use to attack us.
Scott also says that the days of coaching and counseling workers through incidents that mar the company, such as discrimination, are over. "I'm sorry, you don't get a second chance," he says.
This also seems to be the policy of the national GLO officials: If your chapter screws up, it's gone. If you screw up, your chapter may be gone too.
Wal-Mart has 3300 stores in the US, and about 1200 in foreign lands (613 in Mexico).
Join me in buying more Wal-Mart stock.
