Cool Lunar eclipse tonight

There will be a total lunar eclipse tonight that should be visible from much of North and South America, Europe, and part of Africa.

Penumbral Eclipse Begins: 22:15:00 UT
Partial Eclipse Begins: 23:32:21 UT
Total Eclipse Begins: 01:06:07 UT
Greatest Eclipse: 01:18:23 UT
Total Eclipse Ends: 01:30:38 UT
Partial Eclipse Ends: 03:04:24 UT
Penumbral Eclipse Ends: 04:21:48 UT

(Subtract 5 hours for EST, 8 hours for PST.)

I'm afraid OTW will miss this one, but most of the rest of us should see at least part of the eclipse if the weather cooperates.

Thanks for thinking of me, aephi alum! Thankfully I've seen my share of lunar and solar eclipses already.

My bf and I were going out to dinner when a woman said, "Look at the moon!" It was beautiful. I thanked her for reminding me. The moon was even more beautiful on the way home.

Yes, we saw it when we walked to the John Mayer concert tonight! I didn't know what was going on, and the moon reminded me of the Book of Revelation, when they are talking about the seven broken seals, and one of the seal is the moon turns into blood ... maybe they are talking about the lunar eclipse as well?

But yeah, it was cool ... glad I saw it. Thanks, John Mayer!

ever since i was little and would see the moon in a shade of red, i would think that world is coming to end. the book of revelation in the Bible scares the crap out of me! but i highly doubt it has something to do with the lunar eclipse. it is something much more. cause the sun is supposed to turn black too.

As aephi alum stated earlier...we didn't get to see the full eclipse here in Hawaii.

But, yesterday my best friend's daughter was born. Haley Ku`uleipolikamahina Eri... Ku`uleipolikamahina means "my precious child of the moon". The moon's significant because my best friend's Hawaiian name means "moon" and she was born as the tides were changing during the lunar eclipse. Cute huh?
