Non IFC/PHC/NPHC Count

We've discussed the biggest chapters for IFC, Panhellenic and NPHC GLOs, but I was curious as to the biggest chapters for the GLOs not in this group, such as SAI, Phi Mu Alpha, Delta Sigma Pi, Delta Gamma Pi, Theta Nu Xi, and others.

No, this is not a discussion about the importance of chapter size, it's simply a discussion about where their biggest chapters are.

Neat thread idea!

Wish I knew the biggest chapter size for SAI...but I'm not sure. Though I did hear of one chapter that had I think 50 members, which is quite large for us. Anyone know?

SAI typically has smaller chapters as well. I think chapter size usually is between 10-40 members typically, though I might be wrong. In our province(which is all of Arkansas), the biggest chapter is at the University of Arkansas...I believe they have about 50 members. We have 7 members, one chapter has I think 15 and the other two both have I think about 20.

Though we are going to grow significantly in the spring...we're looking at 20 new members!

I don't know the typical size nationally for APhiO but I know in our Section (90), the chapter I'm pledging, Alpha Beta is pretty large. The typical chapter size is between 30-60 including pledges and we are large at 77 members and 42 pledges.

Mu Chapter of APhiO (where I'm an alum) is pretty large. Right now there are 62 active/associate members and 31 pledges. I've seen as many as 92 active/associate members. My pledge class was pretty big when I pledged in Fall 93...we had about 50 start out pledging and about 40 or so were initiated.

I'm actually not sure which is our largest chapter -- I'll have to do a little digging and find out.

My chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma is pretty small -- 11 members with 5 pledges this semester. Although most sororities on campus are rather little (apx. 30ish each) compared to other schools I've heard about! I know that we have larger chapters in the southern states, with sister numbers reaching in the 50s and 60s. Hope this helps!

I'm not sure of our largest chapter either...

I know when I pledged my chapter, we were at about 40... that seemed shockingly large to people at convention... so I'm guessing our biggest chapters are probably in the 40 - 60 range.

For Delta Sigma Pi I know that a couple of chapters are above 100 members. For instance I meet people from the University of Georgia this summer at convention and they had over, but around 100 members.

Which chapter are you from?
My GSS collegiate chapter (Zeta Tau) is now at 20. That's actually the largest it's ever been!

Gamma Sigma Sigma chapters vary in size, but the larger chapters range from 50-75, smaller ones around what your chapter is at now.

I think Beta chapter has about 65 right now, which is about normal for them.

Gamma Girl,
I'm from Delta Nu chapter up at UMaine. Our chapter has been around for 20 years, and it has fluxuated between 6 and 60! It's interesting looking at all the composites and seeing such a drastic change from one year to another... (although it's MUCH better seeing the numbers climbing!) Thanks for the info on other chapters!

Wow, are you serious?! I can't even imagine being in a chapter that big. Very impressive!
