New Hobby
So I've picked up a new hobby last week. I restore furniture. It's an addiction Itell you. I go to auction houses and buy really crappy cheap furniture. then i restore it. It's fun.

I'm looking to take up a new hobby as well. Right now it's between roller blading, some form of dancing, and throwing pottery...

I have a friend who has made a business out doing this. It started as a hobby and progressed. I have no idea how much he actually makes, but he does some amazing work.

I've always wanted to take up painting... I was going to take private painting lessons when I was younger... I think I went to some woman's house once, but I forget. Anyway, back then I was way too involved with sports, gymnastics, cheerleading, and dance lessons to really do it. I also too guitar lessons for a short while, and I've always wanted to take that up again.

restoring furniture
I love restoring furniture. Almost ever piece in my house has a story to tell. Two of my favs....
1) I once carried a two-tier pie crust table on my hip from the Inner harbor of Baltimore the two miles to the ferry, on the ferry, the 1 mile from the ferry to the light rail, and on the light rail home! Quite an event for an 90 lb lady!
2) I bought a mahogany night stand for $1 at a yard sale and refinished it.

I'm thinking about taking up letterboxing. If you like hiking and being outside it's kinda interesting. You can learn more at http://www.letterboxing.org

I took up stained glass about a year ago and I am addicted. So much fun with beautiful results. I am currently working on a 32x36 project with Mallards for our house.
My husband loves to restore furniture. He is always at yard sales buying old furniture and fixing it up. Some have turned out great!

my new hobbies are framing pictures of friends and family and hanging or setting them around my house to constantly remind me of awesome memories.
And.........I've also gotten back into lil crafty like things.........like one would make for their big and lil sis's.

Yeah I started to do that, but that gets expensive! I have a post card collection like you wouldn't believe (just US States). My goal was to frame each one and arrange them on my kitchen wall...so far I've got like FOUR up...
If anyone wants to mail me a post card, let me know!

Over the weekend I bought a how-to-crochet book. It's harder than I expected, but I'm going to keep at it. I want to make myself a sweet scarf.
Also this summer I want to learn how to sail. I have access to water and a marina, but we don't have a sail boat. I know they have sail camps for kids, but I don't know what's out there for adults. I have a while to look into it though.

My grandma recently gave us some of her crochet stuff. She thought it was sad that girl (our age) don't know how to do it. I personally don't have time, but you can make some cute stuff (like a scarf). Did you get info on how to do it online or at a library? My sister might be interested in making some things, so I was curious.
