Winter 2003/2004

I wanted to take a poll to see how many Snowboarders vs. Skiers we have here.

Name your preference of sport, type of gear (board/ski), and where you like to go.

I'll start.

Me: Snowboard
Type: K2-169 double wide
Favorite place: It's a tie between BreckenRidge Colorado and Interlaken Switzerland.

I'm a skier, and getting a set of skis for Christmas, not sure what kind. However, while I love skiing, I'm going to attempt to either teach myself how to snowboard, or have someone teach me over my winter break this year. So I guess you could say I'm both. And as for place I'd love to get out to Colorado sometime, but for now I'll have to stick to the crappy slopes around Louisville.

Ski
Atomic BetaCarvs circa 2000 or so, Solomon bindings, Raichle boots
Sugarbush in VT and Seven Springs in PA are two of my favorites, but I don't make it up there too often.

Not close enough to mountains to make buying skis practical.

Skier..

dont own my skis or anything.. dont go enough to justify it..
i have been a few places in PA. and then just here in Virginia (not very good).. I would love to go out to colorado or utah though..

funny story though..

i did try snowboarding once when my boyfriend wanted me to.. he goes all the time.. that was the funniest thing you could have prob seen.. i was doing alright.. so i told him to go off with his friends and let me go on my own once.. i went up the ski lift was tryign to get off.. and a little girl fell in front me trying to miss her i ended up falling off the ski lift.. basically having to jump and almost killing myself in the process.. i was wearing a helmet too since that night we were going out for new year's

Cool

Cash, kool post!

When I skied, Kastle Team Comp skis. Look Bindings, and The Old High Back Banana Boots to keep you in racing position!

Kastles were not rec. skies, had a softer pair for the fun sh*t!

Raced, never won anything! Skied some wild areas tho, damn the good old days!

Ever ski in a friggen blizard! Aint fun. Skied in the trees one time, hell came out and fell onto the catwalk, almost went over the edge of a DEEP.

Kitzbuhl, had to climb the friggien mountain and ski to a town that ended up 15 damn mile from Kit! Wanted to slit my damn throat, drank 5 glasses of Vasser befor the first Bier! Had to ride the gondola above the dirt line to get to the snow.

Funny places, Taos, wore a light jacket in town, froze ass of in the ski range.

Centenial Wy. dead end road as closed the road for SNOW, only snow mobile. We doubled the Town Populatin, Cowboy and Indian Races! God what a Hoot, did a doobie with the Band, and was waiing for the Cooks for Breakfast. They works at the ski area and in the lettle Burg of a town! We partied and got up for Food, hell they were late getting there!

They thought we were crazy!

Only time I go hurt: Vail twice, slipped coming out of the Hot Tub where my party theme was it is a champagne treat, I slip! Hospital time for that one!

Vail, hit new powder bumps, turned a tree line, sh*t Snow cats, went down like a sack of rocks, Groin pull, had to go back up to the Rim and shi out of the Back bowls. OUCH!

God do I miss it!

Sorry Cash, a flash back on my part, envy is all over this post!

I cross-country ski occasionally, I got my skis when I was 10 and have no clue what kind they are. I really want to learn how to downhill ski, it might be my Christmas break project this year. There's a decent hill about 15 minutes from my parent's house, so I figure it'd be worthwhile.
